MsKreed 1,435 Posted May 28 While looking for some statistical information on a random topic, I stumbled across this fascinating and amusing and concept Harvard Business A huge collection of spurious correlations can be found at this gem of a website: Spurious Correlations Here are a few that I found hilarious.... Andy 85 Posted May 28 That website was used in my research methods class to hammer in the fact that correlation ≠ causation, funny stuff in there!
command_prompt 242 Posted May 30 We dine out very often (preferring to support mom-and-pop, independent eateries), and bring leftovers home. I WFH on Wednesdays. My office is downstairs, my husband works upstairs (we are both IT professionals, so to speak). My previous spouse (I was widowed) wasn't fond of my cooking, but this dude seems to love the concoctions I come up with. It's usually a meaty stew, sometimes an egg-drop soup-like. No recipes to follow. Here I am, a woman who admits that she likes to cook for her husband. Most people at my workplace would be appalled. Oh, the horror.

Men do that, and (maybe because of their tendencies to experiment) are usually much better cooks than women.
Chris 2,774 Posted May 30 I think for me, it's a matter of seeing what flavors work together. I try to put two things together that give you a "one-two" punch when it comes to seasoning. I need to get up to Corning or Watkins to get more olive oils and balsamic vinagrettes.
Ann 358 Posted May 30 I prefer baking to cooking. At this point in my life, thinking about what to cook, the prep, the actual cooking, the cleanup after often feels like a rut. I always said if I won a large enough lottery my only splurge would be to hire a full time cook, someone to plan meals, do the shopping, the cooking and cleanup. Luckily Hubby doesn’t mind “scrounge” nights lol.
Chris 2,774 Posted June 20 Anyone else noticing the appearance of Facebook posts that have got to be written by AI? This one is just the latest example: My timeline is littered with garbage like this anymore. Also I’ve noticed a lot of posts that are prefaced by an AI summary of the post and resulting comments. Such a dumpster fire anymore.
KarenK 453 Posted June 20 I just keep hitting that X in the corner and scroll on by. I rarely read anything on FB with that many words in it anyway. lol

Chris 2,774 Posted July 4 Oh, it’s a good “wow.” I just did a quick walk through to see what they had and to grab a bag of almonds and Spicy Cajun trail mix ( yum ). Sams doesn’t carry the kin of almonds I like and the ALDI ones are almost identical. Those two items alone will get me to return. The prices on some items, even name brand, were a good dollar or two cheaper than I’ve seen elsewhere.
