TTL News 308 Posted January 7, 2021 Some DJ's on the radio today said it was International One Hit Wonder Day. Well actually, it looks like that isn't until September 25th but there is no way I will remember to do this then. So we'll do it now. It's tempting to set this up tournament style, breaking it down by decades, then have a poll to determine the best out of a list from all the decades. But it could be cumbersome, so we'll just throw it out there in the wind and see happens. Of any decade from the 1970's to the "Twenty-teens", what do you think is the BEST one hit wonder? Multiple responses for each decade are perfectly acceptable.

Chris 2,179 Posted January 8, 2021 For my list I tried to go with the first song to come to mind to avoid a long post 😃 70's - "Come And Get Your Love" by Redbone 80's - "Come On Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners 90's - "Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry 00's - "How Far Is Heaven" by Los Lonely Boys 10's - "Gangham Style" by Psy I confess, for the 00's and the teens I had to review a list of one hit wonders as that's about the time I stopped listening to a lot of Top 40/contemporary music. Linda Roorda 129 Posted January 9, 2021 70s - "Layla" by Derek and the Dominos - yes, Eric Clapton, but the best of in this guise. 70s - "I Can Help" - Billy Swan 80s - "Take Me On" by the Swedish group a-ha; there's nothing else memorable on that decade's list of one-hit wonders. Not listening to new rock after the '80s, only Christian Contemporary and Classic Rock. 60s - Barry Sadler’s "Ballad of the Green Beret" - once upon a time, knew this song by heart to sing while playing my guitar; but many more one-hit wonders in this decade.
