  1. keep in mind, to him 15k(annual Legislative salary) is a "paltry sum" so repeating the process really is harmless of course theres at least one person on his slate that would have to run in a different district if this plan gets approved id remind him of such things if he wasnt so afraid of free speech and block those that dont echo his nonsense
  2. just watched the season finale.....awesome and the way it ends you KNOW shits gonna get real in season 2
  3. except, just as with Federal Gov; the State Senate/Assembly are the legislative bodies and bear the majority of blame and responsibility for the conditions in our State, and remains steadfastly Dem....even if Zeldin wins, nobody should be expecting much to change
  4. not sure where you buy your fruit but it IS linked in that it shows the issue goes well beyond just mental health aspect unfortunately, it is both a systemic( "right" of healthcare, patients becoming customers and insurance companies profiting as well as Administrators making exorbitant salaries while their facilities whither away) and societal( sense of entitlement, everyone is special and my way right away mentality). Hospitals are not resorts and they should not be attended nor staffed as such note the parenthetical no quick fix for any of it seemingly but much of it ,long term sadly, is that we must raise the bar in who we choose to govern. war on drugs, poverty, mental illness, poor healthcare, guns, or what have you have been promised for decades yet each has gotten exponentially worse. common thread? same politicians holding office for as many decades as those issues have made headlines. maybe with leaders instead of politicians there could be limits placed on profit margins for insurance companies, caps placed on out of pocket co-pays and/or premiums. allow healthcare providers to do their jobs; help those in need, those who will actively participate, and yes, move those who show no interest get the dregs for a change. short of that, clucking of tongues is all youll get to see
  5. cannot count how many folks either didnt get heart surgery because they wouldnt stop smoking or lose weight first, or had surgery and kept smoking. or cancer patients who continue to smoke, diabetics and bariatric patients who do not change their diets yet display the utmost surprise and befuddled looks when their treatments do not work or get offended when told they need to do more than take a pill or shot its not much in offering solution, but perhaps explains the behavior; Healthcare is touted as a Right and as any other is taken for granted and, yes abused. needs to be clear that healthcare is a privilege and a finite one at that. if one does not want to partake in their plan of care(for those with capacity) then they lose the privilege, freeing up resources for those in need and reducing the surplus workload.... i know bit harsh and unrealistic, but a breaking point needs to be reached soon or nothing is going to change.
  6. no, its not, help/resources were offered and declined, roust their asses out of there and provide one way bus ticket...no option given so which is it; choice or happenstance?
  7. almost seems like another Arena situation...having a Fair-type event, or any other for that matter should be much more equitable than the host squeaking through...i will say(for what good it would do) the County should NOT be pouring ANY money into the fair, no tax monies should be propping up private business use the money to finally see a venue built there for year-round usage, it could encourage more agriculture as well as cottage industry if there were actual venues for building markets
  8. now thats a bunch of BS... particularly is you think about the amount of Legislators/families there of, operate "farms" for the subsidies and tax breaks....but hey my pants are at my ankles and im already bent over so why dont i just reach a bit deeper into my pockets
  9. from what i understand, the biggest issue was lack of receipts/proof showing those items were there when he took over, unfortunately it was one of those things where what one knows and what can prove make the difference. had they made more public issue of the matter; a potential slander/libel case could have been in the near future. i made it clear to a few Legislators in recent past(for what its worth) that there really does not seem to be ANY accountability on part of STEG/IDA to the Legislature; and they being the Law making and appropriating body, needed to correct that oversight PDQ
  10. these items being purchased are (or were) items supposedly in place previously but went missing over last few years ending with Mr. Nichols" departure. of course there was no inventory taken over those years so there was no proof they existed nor accountability for their disappearance i find it interesting the above quotes from the Exec about no more tax monies, yet this latest expenditure is approved on his behalf?
  11. the initiative is supposed to be on the ballot this November correct? if so, im thinking it would be a poor use of 1500 to 6k unless quality product can be put together AND disseminated in less than 10 weeks
  12. am i missing something here? how many actual family farms have employees, or many, that are on payroll versus a family pitching in to run the business? more importantly, how would many here feel if your current employers were able to say OT would not apply to you until after you worked 60 hours? sorry but if anything over 40 hours for police, healthcare, fast food etc is OT why should farming or any other job be different?
  13. probably a hulk-sized, pink vagina hat the way things are going
  14. thta was a known, what makes it worse is the subtle/not-so-subtle girl-power/men suck theme....remember the NYC battle, the things the hulk did, to now where a 4x4 jeep baffles him and a half-sized lady-hulk practically kick his ass....granted Hulk-Bruce could have been pulling punches. yes i realize we are debating fictional characters( the comic nerd in me cannot resist) but the SJW ruins many a story
  15. ive really tried to give it a fair go....the 4th wall thing really only seems to work well with deadpool. i think some of it has to do with HOW she hulk does it, doesnt seem to fit well. also, the HULK seems to have been severely pussified in this series, normally wouldnt bug me too much but i think what makes it so bad is that i think its done in order to amplify the "girl-power" aspect. took Banner YEARS to get to level of understanding/controlling the HULK and here she does it in a matter of days and better than he could? this along with the incessant woman in a white hetero male world social justice commentary just is a turn off i watch movies for the entertainment value, not to be preached at on ANY level....just put on your hat and dance monkey
  16. may sound odd, but the Sound of Steve Christie's voice was/is oddly a bit of comfort/part of growing up
  17. Adam

    First Arena

that may be worth attending....maybe even partaking
  18. cannot imagine any universe i'd offer a defense for him BUT, one has to wonder how blind is justice? Seems they are going after him with gusto yet Clinton hid/destroyed servers and lord knows what else yet she was essentially given a pass by media and FBI. still say there are 535 people plus at least two more in DC i wouldnt shed a tear over if they dropped off the face of the planet today....good chance to start over
  19. aside from "STFU" this type of "legislating" is why NY and the Nation are in the shape they are.....
  20. i realize they are different points of view on the character but IMHO Ledger set the bar
  21. i like the looks of it, though the original panther will be missed. hopefully they do better than movies of late. couldnt get half way through new Dr. Strange and new Thor first half was silly/stupid, second half it got better but marginally
  22. shame on them for not coming out and refuting Moss's assertions. no shocker regarding JB, he and Moss backed a lot of same horses this last primary
  23. turf war on either side here, yes i believe maybe there should be fewer Legislators, or if savngs is the goal of reduction; strip them of health insurance coverage. yes the committee should have been made up of "civilians" but 1. there really doesn't seem to be much interest within the female or POC community to show outrage at lack of representation, so could this topic be merely for scoring political points? 2. if the entity that created suggested changes is apolitical and did so according to NYS Law; if a decrease was warranted, why was it not in the data? as far as working with the Exec....if anyone has watched meetings or spoken with some of the Legislators, a major issue seems to be that Mr. Moss refuses to work with the Legislature, does not show up to meetings when invited, does not provide requested information(CCNF debacle) etc....almost seems "working with the Executive" means its his way or no way. i will say the concerns surrounding Mr. Smith, if true, should have disqualified him from serving on ANY committee let alone getting re-elected
  24. Damn.... what a way to end the season, the fight scene...AWESOME, the dialogue afterwards....misty eyes....Hello there, shit eating grin i had to bring up ANH scene where that toy Ben has is next seen to wife and middle pure tapestry how this franchise has been handled
