Chris 2,195 Posted October 25, 2022 One of the nice things about having the sons at SUNY Oneonta is we’ve managed to take part, albeit virtually, in some of their presentations. In 2020 it was Bill Nye making a virtual appearance. This year, they got George Takei to come and talk about his family’s experience in during the Japanese-American internment in the wake of Pearl Harbor. It was a great presentation, so I thought perhaps some folks here would want to watch it:
MsKreed 1,197 Posted October 25, 2022 Thanks for sharing this. Overall, it was much better than I expected. He gave a moving depiction of his experience that (mostly) focused on the significant historical points that we, as a society, need to know about.
Chris 2,195 Posted October 25, 2022 Yeah I didn't see anything here that was overly political or whatever. I mean, I get where someone who experienced what he and his family did would look around now and think, "Oh man, here we go again." He did a book signing after, but that's not my story to tell. 🙂

Chris 2,195 Posted October 25, 2022 Oh man, they changed the privacy settings. Well, glad someone got to see it.
