  1. how insulting and wasteful, a rail line that basically mimics the path of the interstate! imagine a benefit, and cost savings if the line actua;;y went in a diagonalthrough the SOuthern Tier? and whats more, if you look deeper, the lionshare of funding is for ...........NYC area lines and stations
  2. didnt have TV all day, still not sure if channels are up, internet worked fine though
  3. 1. repeat a lie enough until it becomes the "truth" 2. ignore or deflect until Americans get distracted by something else 3. Wash rinse repeat
  4. used to know the weather was getting warm when the peepers came out..... perhaps then, if this is the same residence where the fatality occurred recently, City should shut the property down and evict the "very uncooperative" resident? if the neighborhood is not going to demonstrate zero tolerance for this bullshit then perhaps the City finally should
  5. Lynn has done very well by us over the years as well cannot imagine what we will do when she retires
  6. hes actually quite responsive and does care(not just lip service for votes). was great help in grant for the park, intros to bldgs&grounds dpt, hell even got a personal intro to the Congressman when he had the town hall meeting up here a while back...i would definitely speak with him, in fact will be doing just that prior to next meeting in march
  7. should you decide to, i would gladly offer whatever help i could on my end. unfortunately all that work might possibly be for naught; remember the Chair of the Legislature solely decides what gets brought to the floor as well as IF it got that far, it would also be the very same members who are currently the problem deciding the make-up of said charter commission
  8. now Brennan is on FB seemingly being against the redistricting committee idea despite the fact he voted in support of it when it had come up instead of voting to table it or defeating it, but again "politics has nothing to do with it" and i guarantee you wont see his constituents voicing disapproval of those actions
  9. 1. silence means consent is an easy way for them to excuse that answer 2. but those that do become their constituents will be in the minority, so will be essentially irrelevant
  10. i normally would have same hopes, unfortunately one Legislator's reply as to why the previous motion to form the committee, and the attempt to make it more equitable, could not have been either tabled or voted down so as to bring the new motion(instead of affirming its passage despite the flaws) said that would never had happened only proves that this has everything to do with politics
  11. i can honestly say he has always been receptive to input, has normally been available at monthly board meetings( though public participation is almost nill) and recently had mentioned concern that he hears almost nothing from constituents, even regarding this situation.
  12. kind of like how at County meetings public can make comments but will get no response or dialogue? Yet some of them have the gall to say this type of forum offers the public opportunity to take part in the process!
  13. some depend upon that very ignorance or apathy to keep themselves in office, why would they interrupt the gravy train?
  14. yup, but since the members haven't heard complaints from their constituents; they don't see any of this as a problem....hand to God this was actually said
  15. as i typed in earlier posts, the star wars episode was akin to the holiday special, rest of the list is quite agreeable, plenty more watching to be had
  16. He will weather it just like Gov. Northum did last summer did after the black-face pic came out during the BLM furor
  17. committee list is out, all but one is republican, no rural representation
  18. the worst part is, there was a perfectly sound compromise offered that would be bipartisan and include public participation on the committee, unfortunately due to procedural wrangling and an apparent sense of fait accompli on the part of the majority, it will never even be entertained...and yes i have gone beyond complaining on Fb, and have reached out to a few Legislators for response/answers, below is an exchange with one, though public, i deleted their name just because i thought i should Adam Sherwood also disappointing was the refusal to compromise by having majority/minority leaders pick two legislators each and then include 4 members of the public at large" Now it seems like just more foxes watching the hen-house. REPLY: I 100% support the public being on the committee. Had Legislator Sonsire's amendment been able to be voted on to allow the public to be on the committee, I would have supported it. Adam Sherwood correct me if I am wrong but in that case the motion could have been tabled and new routing slip submitted with revised proposal, or enough "no" votes could have been cast, defeat the motion, again then allow the proposed changes be brought to floor at later date. REPLY: Adam Sherwood you are correct but that wouldn't have happened. Adam Sherwood with all due respect that says a lot about the current Legislature then
  19. the thing is this: yes folks can contact their Legislators, they can even still submit their concerns via email to the Legislature, and at some points even submit them in person. in these formats however there is NO opportunity for dialogue or debate. As members of these committees the public has an opportunity to actually engage and elicit responses from elected officials
  20. among others, we watched the mark Hamill one last week.....painful, must have been around the time the holiday special was made
  21. a more advantageous move would be to legalize Hemp. Commercialize it and it could be a boon to central/southern tier/finger lakes regions. Commercial hemp production could help revitalize economies across the State, and have a positive impact on the Environment.
  22. meanwhile our insurance premiums just almost tripled this year not against this, but as a dyed in the wool Dem one would think he would look to encouraging industrial hemp in NYS, is much more earth friendly and has thousands of uses and has potential for providing more economic benefit to the State than weed this is actually a great idea just curious as to how it only applies to NYC...as if the Upstate regions do not have this problem? yup, hes got plenty of relatives to name over-budget bridges and such after, Buffalo aint exactly walking in tall cotton...
