  1. It's funny how, as an adult you look at many of those Saturday morning cartoons and realize that they not only weren't as good as you once thought, they were also 30 minute ads for new toy lines. However the classics, like Looney Toons, certainly stand the test of time.
  2. It is completely an American thing, as are a lot of things associated with Paddy’s Day.
  3. I haven’t had a single bite of corned beef yet this year.
  4. I think the Taylor Law is complete BS and only leaves an opening for government or other entities to take advantage of union employees.
  5. Every time I see the Irwin Mainway sketch I think of an old childhood friend of mine.
  6. The period during Covid when the government was giving it all of that “free” money was a great time to invest in the stock market, which had tanked. Certainly a better investment than using the money to buy an even bigger TV.
  7. These mandates are completely unrealistic but by the time anyone figures that out, the people who made these laws will be long gone from office. They'll have made their money on it though, you can bet on that.
  8. Yeah I always laugh, even though it’s stupid. So yeah, it’s entertaining.
  9. I watch it every year, and every year I question why the hell I watched it. I guess it’s just tradition at this point.
  10. Twenty-three years later, I'll do my best to avoid the news and get through the week.
  11. Yeah I’ll hold a door for anyone who is behind me because it’s the proper thing to do. Same as saying “excuse me” when cutting in front of someone looking at something or two people talking. Or any number of things I’ll do because I was raised right and/or it’s the right thing to do. But the almost deferential behavior based on someone’s sex? Standing when someone walks into the room or gets up to go to the bathroom? GTFO.
  12. Manners, yes. But unless they’re missing both upper limbs, women can pull their own chairs out. And I’m not standing every time they do something like walk in or out of the room.
  13. I think some of this is a little bit of antiquated thinking, but overall he makes a good point.
  14. Now you know how we ALL feel here in Upstate NY
  15. I think we need to send “Rotund Man” out to try some more current places. He hasn’t done a review in a long time.
  16. It’s a great time of year that gives way to hot, humid weather and biting flies all too soon.
  17. That’s assuming someone cares about doing the right thing in the first place. I’m sure these scumbags are thinking, “Hey, that $20 could buy a 12 pack of Busch Lite!”
  18. New York State has some of, if not THE strictest gun laws on the books. What more would you have them do? Also, welcome to the site! 😃
  19. If you’d like to take this conversation elsewhere, you’re more than welcome… no, I encourage you to post to the forum here. But I think out of respect for Linda, her writing, and her faith, it’s best to lock down the comment section here.
  20. Yeah, we get that, congrats. How about letting others who do live their life without criticism? You know, the same common courtesy anyone here would extend to you.
  21. Then perhaps you should re-examine who is contributing to the destruction more, someone who writes about their faith in a blog or someone who professes to have “traveled to 90 countries” and “logged millions of miles.”
  22. Going to a blog/ column post specifically written for and aimed at those who do believe in a Higher Power of some kind and making such comments is not only tacky and ignorant, but if I know nothing more about a person that’s enough for me to know that, well, I don’t want to. It amazes me, when someone pops their head in here once or twice, and of ALL the content they can add thoughtful perspective to, choose this as the moment to “contribute.” But I’m not gonna kick you off this site. I wouldn’t give you the satisfaction of being able to add another feather to that “hat” you seem proud to wear. I’m going to leave it, let it speak for itself, and let others form their own opinion of the person who made the commentary.
