Southport Man Arrested For Trespass At Former Southport Correctional Facility

Recommended Posts

A Southport man was arrested after police say he was found inside the now closed Southport Correctional Facility.

On June 1, at approximately 9:13 a.m., troopers from State Police barracks in Wellsburg responded to the old Southport Correctional Facility, in the Town of Southport, for a report of an individual entering unlawfully. Subsequent to an investigation, it was revealed that 35 year old Justin E. Hoose of Southport, NY, forced his way into the facility and posted pictures online.

Hoose was transported to State Police barracks in Horseheads, where he was charged with Criminal Trespass 3rd (B Misdemeanor) and was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Southport Court on June 22, 2023.

Looking at his Facebook page, Hoose admittedly has some good ideas for the use of the facility, right down to a map of what he'd like to see done. Problem is, his execution, as well as his past online and other conduct, is his biggest roadblock.
