  1. and just who do you think will be appointed to the Commission?

since the issue is being raised now, and i doubt anyone in their right mind would raise concern over 500k worth of stuff without some sort of proof, Mr. Moss has a responsibility, no, DUTY to have the issue investigated....ya know, like when he ran Sheriff's Dpt, you investigate to find evidence or lack there of....short of that, i think the exec needs to ask for the resignation of Mr. Roman at the very least

i found that interesting too, not only to person that "took" the items but whoever was responsible at the time for knowing what was in the building and who owned versus leased needs to be bounced asap
  4. https://chemungny.granicus.com/player/clip/341?view_id=1&redirect=true&fbclid=IwAR0WzhlF8fpcYNwUH9inRlAjSqGGM_gnsQvLL6JV6GkLF6cY1Dd7qZLD_do anyone want to see Joe Brennan deep throat shoe leather then proceed to receive a shillacking from fellow legislators start around the 1:30:05 mark
  5. i wonder at times: this push to "protect" from traumatic, or offensive situations, could it itself have something to do with at least SOME of today's societal violence? while unpleasant at yes hurtful, situations involving death, loss or opposing/asshole views are part of what shapes us in our adult lives, as seemingly unnecessary perhaps those hard lessons prepare one to at least potentially deal with such concepts a bit more rationally than if we never had to experience them before....almost like muscle memory. i propose that holding the regents exams, and mandating students eligible sit for them, shows them that the world continues to spin despite the horrors and instead of ignoring, perhaps they can find better ways to prevent/cope with them.
  6. i want to know, whats the end-game? our 40 billion to EU 500 million is insulting( i still say something more than "harsh" words for russia is needed)...
  7. the trooper helmet would really be a great addition
  8. and of course(paraphrasing) our Exec says masking (and vax) should be done IF people choose. Im no fan of mandates, particularly for vax but i think its well been demonstrated that folks cannot be adult enough to do something, even for the common good, unless they are forced to do it. they then turn around and complain about the mandate and then have the nuts/stupidity/gall what have you to then wonder how or why this virus keeps coming back! its not rocket science folks; large groups + relatively confined spaces X (Ignorance +politics2) = breeding ground for illness to spread. wash hands, mask indoors and stay home when sick and for Pete sakes stop believing every drop of BS that comes out of politicians' mouths....they dont give a tinker's fart for anything but your vote or money and will say anything to get one to part with either
  9. one good thing is if Hyland loses 6th this year, well only have to survive 4 years; challenger would become resident of 15th
  10. problem is, many districts are incorporating the "social justice" subjects into the curriculum. there in lies the problem, if you are required to teach uncomfortable subjects, society needs to learn to deal with that discomfort... besides, perhaps if kids learn a fraction of how bad past generations of all stripes had it; theyd appreciate their comfortable lives a bit more
  11. i think THAT is the key; Neighbors all suspect the guy across the street is beating his wife/kids, but it happens out of sight so no real proof to act on. same guy starts smacking them around at the community picnic AND threatens to go get his shotgun for anyone trying to offer her an ice-pack....how long is the beating allowed until the neighbors put a stop to it? he cant get the weapon if his hands are broke or hes beat to a grease spot.... overly simplified i know but, how many lives were lost from '38 to 41-42 that might have been spared
  12. as far as Exec's list: what organizations receive funding and do all 10 really need money? room tax issue; 103k to arena?(crossover "NO" to Leg plan as well), two new admin positions that are funded with these funds till funds are gone....then what? City of Elmira can pound salt, they got more funds than the County, WIfI at park station? sorry its camping no need, and i think, as much as i hate to, CCNF is a millstone around taxpayers necks, there HAS to be some sort of public/private deal that can be arranged Legislative side: no funding of moronic studies, oarticularly for salaries which we know will find someone needing increase, the FQHC can FAQ-OFF there three hospitals in a 20 mile radius of the City, this just reeks of palms getting greased, seed monies to IDA/non-profits/ Arena...might just as well literally plant that money in the ground and get the same results, support WHAT Ag businesses? let town of elmira pick up the surplus cruisers from the City, dirt road? i guess where are these located and really if they are rural, thats part of country living, sales tax return to towns; right, we know who will get lions share of that pie, beyond that, the lists seem fairly similar; the perceived distance between is created by the egos/attitudes of Exec and some Legislators
  13. so along with grabbing as much of the southern regions as possible, i heard today Putin is turning eye towards russian-leaning prts of Moldova.....Maybe Trump was right, UN is worthless, this seems a replay of Hitlers warm up and Chamberlain's appeasement(ya know, to avoid World War)
  14. along with some previous concerns, i would like to know what, if any plans for attracting viable businesses to the area, or what ideas there are to bring back agriculture to the County...despite having a supposedly strong Ag bureau, farming has continuously declined in our are. there is a lot of land just sitting. Another concern is also 1. Bit more transparency on the part of the IDA. 2. limiting the amount of non-profits allowed to operate within the county 3. again, term limits and the issue of Legislature voting themselves, as pt employees, health benefits that are denied to the other pt County employees
  15. i wouldnt hold your breath....remember Joe has statements out there essentially blaming poor, and particularly those of darker persuasions as reasons for ill effects on neighborhoods
  16. if im not mistaken, the majority of the day jobs seem to be "self-employed" or non-profit type so im sure many, if elected, will follow the Brennan/Baldwin-method of minimum in, maximum personal gain
  17. correct, corporate is/was tax exempt, the teams pay "dues" to them though....still remains that an entity making 10billion annually, paying only 10 million in taxes, should in no way need or justify public funds to further their financial comfort
  18. maybe someone should get our clueless "leader" to produce one of these for Baldwin!
  19. at almost 10 billion dollars annual income AND being classified as tax exempt until 2015....now it gets this little sweet heart deal (10 million in taxes on 10 BILLION in revenues!) 0.1% when i get nailed 30% because of a sign on bonus for work "The change in the tax status will not alter the function or operation of the League office in any way. However, relinquishing its tax-exempt status will cost the NFL an estimated $10 million or so per year in taxes. The League will file as a taxable entity beginning with its 2015 fiscal year. In exchange, the NFL will get a few big benefits too, including the end of federal disclosure requirements which means the NFL no longer has to disclose its income or the salary of its Commissioner. Also, lawmakers can no longer hold the league’s tax-exempt status over its head during hearings on unrelated issues."
  20. can tell you, through past conversations with other officials as well as first-hand experience with "leadership"...no other municipality wants anything to do with this once fair hamlet
  21. lots of information and appreciated....still brings this brass tacks question; what, based on current information, will districts look like?
  22. much like when "discussing" legislative pay/benefits....they dont hear anything form the public because they schedule meetings like this during work hours.....they know damn well what theyre doing and its infuriating
  23. i quite understand the danger and difference that nuclear capabilities present in the two scenarios. thing is whether its Ukraine, Poland or any other western European country; that threat will still remain and putin knows it. as crazy as he might seem, hes not that stupid to actually deploy nuclear weapons but IS smart enough to operate under the perception that he will, and that will allow him to go unchecked throughout the european stage do troops have to actively engage with Russian troops? not necessarily, and would not be my first choice. but the presence of UN troops might at least make him re-evaluate or change tactics...even perhaps deter him from trying to take the ENTIRE country and settle for the fringes
  24. which basically equates to the highschool judo champ beating up on the little autistic kid while portions of the student body gather 'round and try gently asking the bully to stop, while posting fight to tik tok violence is never to be first choice nor taken lightly but to be honest, if WW 3 is gonna happen, particularly when it looks to be starting as WW 2 did, why not learn from past mistakes and nip that shit in the bud earlier...nothing entices someone to such actions like getting away with it repeatedly
  25. cannot help but wonder though, why is it NATO/UN was all over it when Iraq invaded Kuwait( non-NATO member) but NOW their hands are tied? not one to lightly suggest American blood, but what is going on over there is just plain wrong, bullies only stop when you bloody them up a bit and to see images of residential areas being targeted and the blatant lies from putin regarding it, is just infuriating
