I worked at quite a few of them starting at McCrorys when I was 16.

McCrorys, Swiss Colony, Great American, Stuarts, Kinney Shoes, Bradlees, Flaming Pit and then Maxwells, Record Town. I think there was a Panosians, Izards, Rosenbaum, Parklane Hosiery.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like these things are ramping up the closer to the elections we get. They seem to be targeting things that they know will force the USA's hand in some way (or at least Biden said he felt he had no choice). To me it's like an attempt to discredit and make Biden look bad to the people who have to vote.

I'm sure there are more people with stories like this out there in regard to mass shootings. No one in charge wants to hear it.

I believe it was on the news as well. I don't remember which one but they indicated they would be closing at the end of the month because the rent increase was not sustainable.

I can't help but think that they are really trying to drag the US in doing whatever it takes.

How will they go about stopping these entities from blocking posts? Several of our govt reps already do this and it's in violation. Doesn't change anything. They continue to do it. Trying to file a complaint with one of the social media companies almost impossible too.

I know several people who live there and I've seen none of that there. Of course, when I am there I am in and out for the most part but have always thought it was very nice. How would it cause homelessness?

He has a point. There is no place for people to live in Elmira. Heck there is no place for people to live anywhere around here right now that would be considered "affordable" . Horseheads went through that same backlash when they approved the apartment complex on Gardner Rd. The neighborhood right behind is a little "high end" and had a fit about ruining their housing values, crime that would move in and all kinds of nonsenses. Nothing of the sort materialized and they are beautiful well kept apartments. Rent controlled, NOT section 8 although I believe some get subsidies. You have to be employed to even be considered. It's all about strong oversight and management of the complexes. Elmira needs the same thing. Horseheads needs more. Even the most recent master plan poll in Erin indicated the residents here (who are more than happy with our small town feel) have indicated that more affordable housing was needed.

Having been to Park Station a gazillion times, I can say that there are not 40 "lakeview" campsites. It's a beautiful campground but quite a few of those campsites have no view of the lake at all.

It's all over an occupancy certificate apparently. He had the health dept permit and subleasing a space from The Grind however because he was operating regular business hours (vs the pop ups that show up there all the time) he needed that other occupancy certificate. It appears they shared the kitchen. So how hard to get an occupancy cert? Sounds like rather than do that, a small tantrum was had and he said forget it, I'm leaving.

Absolutely! Always someone else's fault. I did read on comment about putting a LEO there all the time. LOL.
