Potatoes have been in for a couple weeks and will be popping through with a bit more rain , tomatoes are in the raised beds along with cabbage , Brussels sprouts , rutabaga and Romaine lettuce . Watching Robins snip off the tops of tomato plants … just snip them for fun I guess because they didn’t eat the damn pieces , just snipped out of spite and did I hear that little bastard laughing as it flew off 🤔?

Unfortunately this boondoggle been hung around taxpayers necks for far too long , its time , time to tear it down ! As stated here before almost on an annual basis , get it gone and make room for some smaller retail stores leaving plenty of parking and no I don’t mean another tumbling down crappy multi level , homeless settlement excuse for a parking garage . As an old Drill Instructor told us in boot camp … its time to “Fight or F**k but Get out of the Rain “ , CCIDA has played Pickle Ball with this money suck long enough … tear it down !

IMHO , the only way this will work or benefit the community is for a full on takeover of Arnot by Cayuga . If the upper management personnel of Arnot Health are allowed to be part of this “collaboration “ it cannot succeed .

I always wondered what it would be like to sit in with Willie , roll up a Fat Boy and just , well … enjoy 😉.

I’m almost positive the absence of the Monarch is due to the Milkweed plant no longer being found in abundance . Sure , a few patches here and there but nowhere near enough to support a good population. In general most people feel Milkweed is just that a worthless weed but far from it . But as a result of roadside and lawn spraying and lack of field edges and hedgerows where it prefers to grow well … so goes the Monarch Butterfly .

Guess I need to get busy making up some boxes ! I miss having honey bee’s and Mason bee’s being native pollinators may be just the ticket . Gets rid of some residual project lumber as well .

We will test this one out . Blossom end rot every other year and afraid to use this soil in the new raised bed . I was taught in Horticulture school not to plant tomatoes in the same soil where you had rot the year before but i’m not wasting soil i have built up over many years so I’m hoping this works .

NO !! I too am happy that it was turned down for all the reasons listed in the prior post ! As alluded to before these ARP funds are like blood on the water to some sharklike individuals in the area … old and new sharks .

Nick Dubina our only local Investigative Journalist has once again been on the job with City Manager who states he was not aware the elevators were down … but there are green lights in the windows of the stairwells for the homeless that hang out there . And new LED lights on the decks but my question is how much , if any , ARP funds were used for the mural ? And now an additional $60,000 .00 was approved… for?

Can you believe this … 1.3 million for upkeep and needed repairs on the City of Elmira Parking Garage . These repairs using Federal Funds ( ARP ) include cleaning and refacing of the structure , painting to make it more attractive etc . Ahhh but the kicker is this , there is no full time attendant on duty , the sign states that the garage has security cameras in place and there is ample handicapped parking spaces on all floors and elevators are available . But wait 🤔 the security cameras are missing hence the broken beer bottles and graffiti. But it gets better the elevators don’t work … haven’t worked for some time ! So to that point if a handicapped driver parks on an upper deck of the pretty newly painted garage how in Hell do they to get to the ground floor , most can’t do the stairway where the new security cameras presumably will be placed , at least there will be live entertainment for any attendant on duty watching a handicapped person tumble ass over teacup down Lord only knows how many flights of stairs . But have no fear folks the parking garage will be more attractive and will draw more traffic to the revitalized City according to Mayor Mandell who also states “ the elevators will be fixed … at a later date “ !

I also can’t believe this is a misdemeanor! What I do believe is this will put her on the welfare rolls because who the hell will hire her after this stunt . Yep , get fired , call in a bomb threat to a Daycare center and “pop” back on the street with a misdemeanor charge ,God forbid this should escalate. Sorry folks but it needed to be said .

Mandell also stated that he himself had had plenty of training with guns … but has he had training in what to do with a weapon while securing a subject and you need both hands ? Shit happens in the heat of the moment , adrenalin is a bitch to control there Dan … something like being on camera trying to act the “professional “ Mayor !

Having just watched the body cam footage of the actions leading up to Chief Alvernez being terminated I see nothing here that was out of line … nothing ! If by him using an unmarked car to block a subject , not hit the suspect as he Jumped over the car , I find nothing wrong in that . As far as why Alvernez was on the call this happened after four 911 hangups which it appears he was called in to talk with the residents that claimed their phone was malfunctioning and the calls did not come from there . So , the malfunction of the phone was to make 911 calls … bullshit ! I still applaud Mr Alvernez for having the courage of his convictions to take the termination ! Bet ole Mike C and Dan M didn’t see that coming . But take a look at the cam footage and you tell me . And kudos to Journalist Dubina for digging into this cluster and keeping us up to date on the Facts !

Sitting here seeing on the tube a whole butt load of things idiots and … some educated idiots included do the thought came to me . Wouldn’t it be great if we could just take a few out behind the barn and slap the shit out of them ? Then again you can slap till the cows come home and not slap the Stupid out of them ! True Adam and I understand the need to educate some people in the area of Zoning and Ethics but why aggravate yourself on “ Elmira is Crazy “?! There is a very good reason for that site being named as such . She is worried about a few chicks dying en route ( not to make light of that ) maybe she should visit a few of the hatcheries that produce these chicks . Anyone here ( other than you Chris ) ever see how they are or at least were sorted at day one ? In some hatcheries the pullets are sorted and sent down one line to be sold as all pullets , the others are sent down another to be sold as “ straight run “ which is a take what you get type thing , males and female mix . But most of the males are/were tossed into barrels … now , if she were to see this she would have something to bitch about . I can honestly say that out of the hundreds ordered over the years there were maybe a handful in all that time that arrived dead . Back to topic … No , keep shipping chick through the mail ! Chick Days at the local farm store can’t possibly supply the larger egg producers !
