2. I could believe the issues Acres is having could be due to incompetent codes/council, maybe some backroom dealings since i think one member runs a like-business on maple ave, before it being due to them being gay.
3. maybe they pissed off the wrong people or misunderstood the zoning issues?

in other news: POTUS is claiming the market is Biden's fault, despite the direct effect he has had with announcing tariffs then pausing them....smh
between that and him arguing with a reporter Abrego has MS13 tattooed on his knuckles, despite them being added to the picture. to the reporters credit, he pushed back on POTUS only for trump to start in about how he picked the reporter even though he didn't know who he was etc.

so many items listed that have absolutely ZERO to do with budgeting: but hey, theyll divvy up our tax money( those of us who contribute) and give a fraction of it to everyone.

what SOME are saying is that the exact same thing happened with the Mannings yet no one batted an eye then, so of course NFL is racist. from what ive seen/heard from the younger Sanders, hes a peacock with no real accomplishments to back up his attitude; many teams do not want to deal with potential issues that accompany that OFF the field...FFS he(they) spent 100k on his draft day room and another 100k on a rediculous chain he wore on draft day as well. kid needs some serious slice of humble pie
which brings me to the prank call....it is kinda messed up what happened, but its also funny as hell considering Sanders' attitude

paw paw seeds are in the greenhouse, two trees on their way mid may, was thinking of replacing a dead peach tree in the orchard, hoping to get drags this week for the wildflower area

2 hours ago, Beekeeper said:Maybe it's time to become a vegetarian and plant a garden. I was starting the garden as a hobby I could do in retirement. Great planning on my part. We should create a catchy slogan like the Victory Gardens during WWII to encourage others to do the same.
unfortunately, the " I can get it cheap from Walmart" mentality will never allow such things as self-sustaining gardening, purchasing from small, responsible farming set-ups. the product is almost always cleaner, healthier (both it and for the end user) and frankly more ethical....never mind the piss-poor job the FDA does at actually enforcing sanitation laws at these factory "farms"
being the current largest consumer economy on the globe, its no surprise we are seeing an increase in issues such as avian flu, pollinator declines etc; as the need for quantity over quality continues its Onceler-esque march, i believe its only the beginning

36 minutes ago, Hal said:Knowing just a bit about bees and beekeeping I will throw in my two centavos on this “ bee loss “ . Imagine if you will hundreds maybe thousands of hives trucked thousands of miles from the familiarity of the base apiary to pollinate, for instance , the pecan groves . Now , these hives as shown being loaded on semi trucks with forklifts is just small thing … nope , disturbed bees are confused bees . Next , the trip to the groves where along the way countless bees are lost just blown away from “ home “ at over 65mph … and contrary to belief No , they do not catch up at the next truck stop and nor are they “covered “ by netting to keep them contained “ !
Then IF enough do survive the trip they are again snatched off the trailer and plopped to the ground and expected to start right in pollinating or if really lucky they get a hit of sugar water to help them get over the trip ! Heard enough, because thats not the end of the story by far but just watch the article and the way the hives are handled , thrown around ! Bees cannot thrive under this type handling , much less spending much of their lives traveling the rounds to all types of orchards . These people are NOT BEEKEEPERS, they are in the business of pollination at any cost to the actual Pollinators. Yes , there are other pollinators but none so prolific , so domesticated , so adapted to being treated as livestock… and they are considered livestock by the way .European Union (EU) has implemented bans on certain pesticides, including clothianidin, imidacloprid, and thiametoxam, which are known to harm bee populations and the European honeybee colonies are actually rebounding.
Meanwhile here in Murica, the chemicals are still in use and ive read of no serious efforts to follow europe's lead and outright ban their use, and, shocker, our colonies continue the decline

2 hours ago, Chris said:Twice in the last week people from around the area have stopped to ask about what seeds we used in our wildflower meadow. One of them has actually bought a bunch of seed to plant a field he and his wife bought.
Thats quite promising. Maybe we can get a movement going here.
we busted up a section today, will be needing drags soon, depending on weather
i also have some paw paw seeds coming, when i start them, you can put some in down there somewhere to start a patch

funny how he easily appears for this, but keeps ghosting constituents wanting to meet with him in corning

well if it isnt something in the vaccines doing it, there has to be SOME reason the rates of autism diagnoses have steadily increased over last few decades

anything hes done to date has nothing to do with making our Nation better, it is purely payback time. anyone who ever said anything his ego cannot take is on the hitlist
and his die-hards are just lapping it up...smh

7 hours ago, Chris said:I'm getting pretty tired if picking up large trash items out of our yard that fall off of the trucks of these independent garbage haulers. If the county or law enforcement gave a shit about it, they'd be out here writing tickets for uncovered loads and open trucks. But they don't, so our roads are littered with fresh trash every week.
And since I know some keyboard warrior is out there thinking, "Well pick it up," I do. The problem is when the stuff is so large that I'm not sure the guys who pick up our garbage ( who are just as guilty btw ) will take it.
country living Brother, just drive towards little road to get the full experience

aware of this guy's case from the get go, as it has developed(devolved) i am more sickened. he was afforded no due-process, was given protected(legal) status, with zero proof to date of gang affiliation, and you have these two peckerwoods shrugging their shoulders. SCOTUS has said get him back to get due process and same....reporter asked trump in that same setting about SCOTUS order and he replies thats why CNN has such low ratings.
at that point office or job be damned, id of been, verbally, up one side of him and down the other until they carried my ass out.

no expert by any means but before a closed out for fun money, my portfolio was largely made up of inome stocks, and the dividends were fed back in to buy more of them, i did sprinkle some "penny stocks" in just for the off chance they were the next AMZN. i do watch my retirement account, and up till now enjoyed about an average 11% rate of return. this recent tariff issue has only cost me 7k in the first quarter( only being a relative term of course).
i try to pick up silver every so often, it too is finite though not as much as gold obviously but more affordable. its funny because almost 15 years ago, i was offered chance to pick up "bulk" purchase for almost nothing over spot, was told by wife NO as it was foolish to spend it....would have almost triple initial investment by today

7 hours ago, Chris said:What a way to manipulate the markets and make a quick buck for you and your cronies.
kind of hard to dispute that, given hes done this multiple times: slam the tariffs, wait a bit for market to drop then pause them 90 days and BINGO, market goes back up...worse, this time around he puts out "THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!! DJT,” 7 minutes after opening bell but im guessing he and select few of his ilk had ample time to put in their orders....
thing is, im not completely against applying tariffs appropriately: yes canada has high tariffs on american goods, but only AFTER certain quotas are met. before that most goods are low tariff or even duty free, its a way to help protect their domestic industries. and in cases of countries such as china, where much of their industry is subsidized, theres no way to compete; along with their penchant for sweatshop labor, almost ZERO regard for environmental damage, as well as continuous IP theft, they should be held accountable....DJT seems to not know difference between scalpel and chainsaw unfortunately as Tariffs were a way for US to raise revenue before some assht had the idea of taxing our incomes...we wouldnt feel the pinch so bad if he/congress would repeal Fed income tax BEFORE engaging in this tariff business, that is IF it were actaully about the Nation and Not market manipulation

report to the labor board for sure, sounds like a cut/dry retaliation perhaps even discrimination
aside from that, you better have my stuff clean and ready when i call for it @Matthew

I don't think there's any reason (yet) to assume a correction won't happen. The markets are dynamic and resilient. Patience is a virtue.
My personal investments dropped, but one of my larger holdings had already been trending down and unable to recover from the previous dips in 2022 and 2023.
normally with my investment, i dont sweat the drops as they are great times to buy in cheap, in this instance though, i cannot help but think the tariffs are a way of manipulating the markets to suit a select few rather than the "organic" ups and downs

Ruby Tuesdays ( love their croutons!) three of us, nothing fancy and it was an 80 dollar bill sans tip!
roadhouse can be pricey, but weve never had a bad feed there, outback was a one and done a long time ago, we actually really like going to DQ for their burgers and tenders and its priced well.

cannot help but think someone is making out quite well on the tariff rollercoaster guess we will see if he reverses course in coming days
