  1. I give up on watermelons and pumpkins, I never get a good harvest from them. As for the only other thing I grew my peppers did great. I have everything from sweet to ghost peppers and for the most part they all produced. I have a big bush of Thai peppers and even have 4-6 plants of Habanadas growing. Habanada looks, tastes and smells like a Habanero but with no eat. So they should be interesting. Just threw out about 75 cloves of garlic because my basement got flooded and the excess moisture caused 1/2 of them to sprout and the other 1/2 was mushy.
  2. I just finished the 3rd episode and noticed how bad the CGI is when she's walking around the office building. As for the 4th wall break She-hulk even does it in the comic books. Also noticed the introduced the wrecking crew. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wrecking_Crew_(comics)
  3. How can we have near normal precipitation and above normal snowfall? I understand snow to be a form of precipitation. Either way cold winters is another benefit to working from home.
  4. James Webb Space Telescope snags its 1st direct photo of an alien world. https://www.space.com/james-webb-space-telescope-exoplanet-image
  5. I remember going to the Sears a few times, but mainly I remember sitting in the parking lot for the parade that American LaFrance put on for their 100th anniversary and then a huge even in the field just south of the building. I remember my mom entering a raffle to win a fire truck.
  6. The smart hulk story line is from the comics. It is a really interesting storyline, but the. MCU will never follow it fully. She Hulk again is from the comics. She has always been able to control her powers at will. https://www.filmsnewsfeed.com/article/10-things-only-marvel-comics-fans-know-about-smart-hulk/amp
  7. Got a chance to watch the first 2 episodes today and I can say they are pretty good. I like it when shows break the 4th wall and She Hulk does it a lot, just like in the comics. I wouldn't say it's a stellar show, but it's fun to watch.
  8. From what I have read it is mostly young people being lead by a few older long term employees. The young ones don't plan on staying long, but keep hearing the long time employees saying how great it would be.
  9. I always tell people if you think Unions are so great ask the people at Hostess. The company told the union they can't afford raises and the union decided to strike. Hostess told the union if you're out for more than a week or 2 we will be closing the doors because we can't afford a stroke. The union went for the strike anyway and a week later they announced they were shutting down.
  10. I absolutely love how Starbucks is handling this. "the NLRB also alleged that the company withheld benefits and wage increases from unionized baristas — which Starbucks denied, falling back on a statement made in July stating that “The laws is clear: once a store unionizes, no changes to benefits are allowed without good faith collective bargaining.” It also sounds like you are right. "According to Gillett, she had been fired by manager Chris Mix after arriving late to work — something the company is typically lenient on, claimed union representative Jaz Brisack, except when the employee is a unionized worker." Also Starbucks corporate put out a statement. “Some of the complaints from the union have been about our sharing facts and our perspective on this important issue so partners can make informed decisions when they vote. Our hope is the union would respect our right to share information and our perspective just as we respect their right to do so.” I love the fact they wanted a union and now have to follow the rules that go along with that. That they don't like so much.
  11. Since evidently contrary to the dozen mailers I received NY 23rd is not Carl Country, maybe Buffalo is.
  12. Acme, Harold's Army Navy, Pete's HotDogs when it was downtown and still tested good. I think we had a Grand Union grocery store also
  13. I never heard of the Planters store at all. I remember Granny's restaurant and when Ames was in the old Artistic plaza.
  14. They are only planted a inch below ground. I think they would do good in an elevated box. Just make sure to provide plenty of fertilizer or nutrients since they drain the soil of it. I have some cloves I will drop by your house in the next couple week. A few different varieties. I had them separated, but they all got mixed together.
  15. If you are planning on planting garlic this fall you will want to start getting some sed cloves. They go in the ground in the next month or so. Remember they aren't harvested till July so you won't be able to plant anything else in that location in the spring and they take all the nutrients from the soil anyway so you need to plant something next summer in that location that adds nutrients back.
  16. No, A full pension is available to Members of Congress who are: *62 years of age with five years of service; *50 years or older with 20 years of service; or *25 years of service at any age. https://foxx.house.gov/legislation/fact-or-fiction-members-and-pensions.htm
  17. I may have that printed as a poster to hang on my office wall.

    First Arena

I was checking out the Arena website today and I see they have Rumors of Fleetwood Mac coming in Oct. That should be a good show. Oddly enough they don't have the tattoo expo listed on their calendar.
  19. You can work from with Wayfair. The 5 states they don't allow are Alaska, Hawaii, California and Wyoming. I don't remember the 5th one. They don't hire people for part time. Everyone starts full time and then you can request to go part time. They have had a hiring freeze in effect since May for anything other than entry level front line positions.
  20. While the local call center never reopened after Covid restrictions they still employ virtually a decent number of people in the area. I know of at least 6 local people that were let go. Luckily I was not 1 of them. https://www.theverge.com/2022/8/19/23313103/wayfair-870-layoffs-boston-retail-furniture-home
  21. They always classify the CEO bonuses and everything else as the salary instead of the salary they actually take. The same when they say they don't pay taxes. They pay taxes on the salary just like everyone else.
  22. Looks like they are sending Rogue one back to theaters ahead of the Andor release. https://www.engadget.com/rogue-one-imax-august-26th-212507232.html?guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAFu5uWtv589ZyxLcTbiAWbNnNT9vixeipV2FvsX_srGrUvB5Vc_WnNtSPz894k6YTSNKB_8ItamGL6HaSgtRntG_CosCshJlibm03sbiH5ScyaYJ-8AVAb2kQjcq-ZniHBlpkn1U3Nfzr2sTdYDYjeRfpFrOoBitwahBnk0QmgJZ
