  1. They didn't lay people off when they closed the call center. All were transferred to WFH. A lot ended up quitting afterwards. The rumors are most of the layoffs are going to be corporate and Frontline employees along with a number of mid level management.
  2. NY only has about 350 people that work for Wayfair, but I know a large number of those are in this area. https://www.reuters.com/technology/wayfair-prepares-cut-more-than-1000-jobs-wsj-2023-01-19/
  3. My seeds arrived today and as always they threw in a free pack of seeds, but it's nothing I am interested in growing. The package of spoon tomato seeds is free to anyone that wants to try and grow them. https://www.rareseeds.com/spoon-tomato
  4. They haven't appointed any one yet, or have not announced it. No, City Council resets next January/.
  5. My seeds are ordered and on the way. I am planning on growing everything from seed this year. I got all mine from Baker Creek.
  6. I found some small greenhouses that will fit over these. So I saved this video with the idea to make some of these.
  7. I'm pretty sure his grandmother already did most of that. I know they said at some point they are living off what he inherited from his mother.
  8. Sometimes it takes a station a few weeks or months to get the notification from the FCC that they have changed the call letters. Until that happens you will hear them sneak in the "Legal ID" somewhere between :50-:10 the hour.
  9. People are confusing the call letters with the frequency. FLN is going to be on 94.3. WLVY, WEHH, WELM are all going to simulcast on 1600 AM/93.9 FM and 1410 AM/106.5 FM. Since they are on 93.9, I am assuming they will still call it 94 Rock. Whatever format was on WEHH previously is gone. You also have to remember that different frequencies also have different coverage areas.
  10. 94.3 FM will be FLN. WLVY will now simulcast with WEHH 1600 AM/93.9 FM and WELM 1410 AM/106.5 FM. $450,000 seems like a good deal. To bad about 99% of the listeners will be changing the station once the format changes.
  11. This is where I learned about it. The funeral home in Washington has been posting videos about it for a while now. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRb9dBkX/
  12. The human composting process breaks down bones and teeth through a combination of microbial and mechanical means. Microbes do the primary work of human composting. By controlling the ratio of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and moisture, human composting creates the perfect environment for microbes and beneficial bacteria to thrive. These microbes are assisted by mechanical steps to help complete the transformation into soil. Recompose staff rotate each Recompose vessel at several points during the process to ensure thorough aeration and decomposition, which helps to break up any remaining bone fragments and teeth. Recompose staff also screen for non-organics such as implants, which are recycled whenever possible. At the end of the composting process, fragments remaining that are larger than one centimeter are processed using the same equipment that is used to process bone in conventional cremation. Soil is tested for safety and screened before it is returned to families or the environment. The final soil may include small bone fragments, which are safe and will continue to break down and return to the environment over time. https://recompose.life/our-model/

    The Batman

Just finished streaming the movie. TBH I am so out of touch with everything I don't even know if I knew it was released this year. This one stars Robert Pattinson (Batman), Zoe Kravitz (cat woman), and Colin Farrell (penguin). This is an origin story for Batman. It is from the beginning when it was just an experiment for Bruce Wayne. It starts 2 years into the experiment, but still before Batman has the confidence that he shows later in life. The batmobile is more like a muscle car from the 60-70s. I have never been a fan of Robert Pattinson and previously thought his best acting was done after he died in Harry Potter. The movie is very dark and gritty. It also shows a ton of violence. Which is normal for movies from DC. But the story is good and a fun watch.

    Ann's Pancakes

I am surprised you have never been there. The garbage omelet is a regular omelette has sausage, bacon, and ham along with all kinds of vegetables in it.

    Ann's Pancakes

We all know Ann's is a great place to go for an affordable and hearty breakfast. The LA French Toast is is to die for. The garbage omelet is also fantastic. I just returned home from going there for dinner. The dinner menu only has about 1/2 a dozen choices. I had the chicken fried steak with brown gravy. My wife had the fish fry. Each was very good. Both were reasonable priced and all dinners come with 2 sides.
  16. It does seem to have that vibe. Still fun to watch.
  17. It is as hokey and lame as you expect it to be, but somehow it is still fun to watch. It was filmed during the filming of Galaxy 3. Plus it has Kevin Bacon in it.
  18. I am at the season finale of season 1. So far, so good.
  19. I just finished the new series Wednesday and without giving away any spoilers I can say it is a good show. I enjoyed watching it. They don't lean to heavily on the family, but they do make appearances. For those that don't know about it, it is a separate story line for Wednesday from Addams Family. She is at a boarding school and must solve crimes. The 1 surprise I had was Christina Ricci making a guest appearance as a teacher at the school. She is completely unrecognizable. If you are looking for a quick watch (8 episodes) I do recommend this one. The girl Jenna Ortega that plays Wednesday does a great job. And for Gomez they went with the old comics for his looks instead of the suave handsome choice from the movies.
  20. 2nd hand lions is a great underrated movie. Those that have seen like it. Those that haven't most likely have never heard of it.
  21. I will say I forgot they were even there. I only heard good things about them.
  22. Most of not all of the movie is a joke. Once you see it you will understand.
  23. The movie is only available on Roku TV so I am not sure how many people will see it. It is not a movie I would normally like, because I am not a fan of slap stick comedy. The movie makes fun of other biopics about rock stars including drug and alcohol use and dating other music stars. It makes fun of the overnight sensations that a lot of musicians are called. From what I read he did it this way he has had had no controversy or scandals so his story would be boring. Weird Al is played by Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) Dr Demento who I used to listen to Sunday nights on 94 Rock is played by Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office) It has a ton of other people pretending to be stars like Dali, Pee Wee, Alice Cooper. It really is a funny movie and not meant to be taken seriously. All the songs are sung by Weird Al himself, but Daniel Radcliffe did learn to play the accordion for the movie.
  24. I saw that the JWST was finally pointed at the pillars. They are awesome.
