And your here to tell us they are wrong ! All wars are wrong in that it’s the Innocents that pay the price of war . To understand why this is happening one needs to understand the mindsets of those involved … on both sides . Why is it that Americans believe that other cultures and their people think , act , have Laws and Rights like we enjoy here ?! 
If , God forbid , you found yourself smack dab in their shoes would you not want to reciprocate? This situation Will escala … oh ffs never mind !

Perhaps this could work I’ll give you that ,  but ( always a but right ? ) some of us here have seen firsthand that the current regime ,and a few before them , have made Elmira not all that business friendly . Although that has changed a bit in the last few years with some coffee shops etc it's a too little too late situation for anything bigger . And you are spot on with accessibility to any attractions and lack of parking . They have shoved that damned parking garage down our throats for far too long and they just keep putting lipstick on that pig with the so called repairs and lighting the stairwells … give me a break ! I won’t even start on the elevator situation ! 
So , maybe if Mr Hasselle can include these on his platform along with other concerns thats what I could get behind … and if elected he were to address said concerns , well …  all the better . 
Now ,  having  beat this horse enough i’ll just give a “Peace Out “ , but I do enjoy the rigorous debate on the topic .

For myself I can verify the 60+ years slump , well , add 10 years to that lol . Myself and many others have very fond of Elmira from our childhood but also  realizing change is inevitable . We all know the same old excuse about the river being at fault in 1972 right … but how many know what actually transpired after that point ? Think Arnot Mall and Certain City Officials ( of the day ) and why businesses were not rebuilding shortly after Agnes . THAT was the reason … but I digress . 
Since that time the word revitalization has been the key word used by , to my recollection, Incumbents and Candidates alike in their bid to take or hold the Seat , So , again , for myself there has been No “ Different “ to try in all that time . But please , if you wish , dispute  my point ! You make a list of attempted revitalization projects and I can and will give you viable reasons as to why they failed .

I’ll grant you voter apathy is one of the bigger problems not just Elmira but all over . One reason for said problem , I believe , is that Candidates and Incumbents Do use the “talking points “ to get elected , then do not address those points to any significant extent. This eventually makes the potential voter think to themselves “ why bother voting “ or “ my vote doesn’t count “ .

I have planted Heirloom varieties of tomatoes and squash . The tomatoes were Green Goddess , they were delicious right from the vine . Up until tasting this ripe when green variety I detested tomatoes, disappointing that I didn’t plant any this last Season but still have the seeds for next year. 
The Squash where a Winter variety of butternut called Violina , delicious but HUGE  ! These things were on average 10 to 12 lbs at maturity. Great flavor but need to be processed for preserving unless a steady diet of squash is preferred . I did dry and store the seeds from them for future use . 

And yet our Southern border is wide open , our military is a Charlie Foxtrot , our munitions and equipment stores are depleted! 
Notice I didn’t include Our cost of living or that it’s Our tax dollars funding this doddering old fools feel good policies! All that aside please remember if this continues the next will be Our young people to pay the price because “ old men send young men to die “ ! 

Did I overuse the word “OUR “ , nope it was intentional . Doesn’t it piss you off that Billions of Our dollars are not being used to protect Our interests here in Our Country … it should !!

As I said , I heard nothing new ! Just the same as the present Mayor spewing all the talking points that City Officials have been regurgitating since 1972 ! 
Give us something New … something we haven’t heard . If Mr Hasselle truly wants Ideas for improvement of the City he has but to talk with residents and listen to and echo their concerns. But he has not done that echoing when on the perfect forum to air those concerns. Now if he has been out door to door as you say , why has he not brought the concerns and ideas to light at debate ? 

You know , with all the protests going on and growing by the day, and the U.S sending in Military Advisors and Military Medical support , not to mention two Carrier Groups . I am having flashbacks to another era , a time my generation should remember as the way it is playing out is not just coincidental. And where we were at that time didn’t like Americans either !

Had I heard more substance from Mr Hasselle , other than the old revitalization and homing the homeless schtick , I could maybe see that he could stand a chance ! But at this time I see/ hear the same old same old just from another pie hole  . I mean give me something New , something Good that I could possibly get behind ! 

I never “ imply anything “  I straight up ask what I wish to know . And also assure you that I never “ seem “ , to be anything other than what and who I am . It was a legitimate question , so lets not assume it was anything but just that . I am however happy to know that Chris was able to help you … he’s a pretty good guy and must have had a good upbringing!

Look , I like Brent Stermer and all but have doubts on his “experience and knowledge “ of the rural , much less the agricultural concerns of Chemung County . Now does this only concern the larger family farms or the small time sustenance farmers as well ? Because as I see it a farmer is a farmer is a farmer , no matter the size of the operation , no matter the product .

I used to enjoy having over 100 chickens here on the compound but with the feed prices … nope . Even raising freezer birds for that short time you have them isn’t cost effective any longer . 
Remember the days of feeding a family from under an acre ( micro farming ) hardly possible anymore . We are now even more dependent on corporate farms who for the most part in bed with one political faction or another …shame that !!
