I have planted Heirloom varieties of tomatoes and squash . The tomatoes were Green Goddess , they were delicious right from the vine . Up until tasting this ripe when green variety I detested tomatoes, disappointing that I didn’t plant any this last Season but still have the seeds for next year. The Squash where a Winter variety of butternut called Violina , delicious but HUGE ! These things were on average 10 to 12 lbs at maturity. Great flavor but need to be processed for preserving unless a steady diet of squash is preferred . I did dry and store the seeds from them for future use .

And yet our Southern border is wide open , our military is a Charlie Foxtrot , our munitions and equipment stores are depleted! Notice I didn’t include Our cost of living or that it’s Our tax dollars funding this doddering old fools feel good policies! All that aside please remember if this continues the next will be Our young people to pay the price because “ old men send young men to die “ ! Did I overuse the word “OUR “ , nope it was intentional . Doesn’t it piss you off that Billions of Our dollars are not being used to protect Our interests here in Our Country … it should !! Rant over … for now .

As I said , I heard nothing new ! Just the same as the present Mayor spewing all the talking points that City Officials have been regurgitating since 1972 ! Give us something New … something we haven’t heard . If Mr Hasselle truly wants Ideas for improvement of the City he has but to talk with residents and listen to and echo their concerns. But he has not done that echoing when on the perfect forum to air those concerns. Now if he has been out door to door as you say , why has he not brought the concerns and ideas to light at debate ?

You know , with all the protests going on and growing by the day, and the U.S sending in Military Advisors and Military Medical support , not to mention two Carrier Groups . I am having flashbacks to another era , a time my generation should remember as the way it is playing out is not just coincidental. And where we were at that time didn’t like Americans either ! Just a thought …

Benefit of the doubt here . Had I heard more substance from Mr Hasselle , other than the old revitalization and homing the homeless schtick , I could maybe see that he could stand a chance ! But at this time I see/ hear the same old same old just from another pie hole . I mean give me something New , something Good that I could possibly get behind !

Look , I like Brent Stermer and all but have doubts on his “experience and knowledge “ of the rural , much less the agricultural concerns of Chemung County . Now does this only concern the larger family farms or the small time sustenance farmers as well ? Because as I see it a farmer is a farmer is a farmer , no matter the size of the operation , no matter the product .

Well , that was damn nice of them !

I used to enjoy having over 100 chickens here on the compound but with the feed prices … nope . Even raising freezer birds for that short time you have them isn’t cost effective any longer . Remember the days of feeding a family from under an acre ( micro farming ) hardly possible anymore . We are now even more dependent on corporate farms who for the most part in bed with one political faction or another …shame that !!

No disrespect intended here … that is a beautiful area no doubt but … I would invite you to to spend a few nights , or days walking that park especially during warm weather when the area is most , lets say , populated. The average person doesnt have any idea of what goes on there as most of the incidents go unreported , at least by local Network Media and /or not responded to by the understaffed Local Law Enforcement. Maybe as campaign manager the fact that Law Enforcement are understaffed might be a better soap box on which your Candidate could stand , good way to get folks back to the frame of mind to go to the Park once rehabilitated . Back to topic . Yes there is and has been Total “ lack of imagination “ on the part of the powers that be , movers and shakers , call them what you will , here in the County not just the City .

I can see the park planted in such a way as to make it a relaxing and enjoyable spot . Community gardens , pollinator gardens even better … IF there were some way to keep them inviting . As to the pool bring on the bulldozers, its had its days and now its past time to move it into just being a fond memory !

His story , their story all aside , it was a fantastic movie ! Why can’t we have a “ feel good “ movie just once without someone effing it up ! I realize he probably took a Ben Dover on the proceeds and if so shame on them but now would a sequel be a good idea , I think not .
