  1. I recently worked for one of these "Struggling Newsrooms" and I can tell you their struggling not because they can't find people but because management refuses to actually pay anyone a decent wage.
  2. No Hobby Lobby won't. I think what NYS is saying is that if you are operating on the Thru Way which the state owns, you should be open all 7 days. Which seems fair since some of those new plazas only have the one restaurant which is Chick-Fil-A. NOW GRANTED, I will say if New York State wanted this to be the case, they should of made that clear to Chick-Fil-A before they started operating there. Cause more then likely NYS wasted all this money on these new rest stops and then lose one of the main restaurants they had worked with from the beginning. It's really stupid also they made these rest stops so much smaller then what they were that most of them don't have a lot of seating which another stupid thing but i'm just venting a little.
  3. LOL no. I just got busy with family and that. Sorry I didn't mean to offend.
  4. A thread on the FPHL Hockey team. I'm curious how many people have been to a game this season? I do feel their an upgrade over the Mammoth but still not that great.
  5. Meanwhile the Jets find new and creative ways to disappoint me. I can't wait for this season to end.
  6. Honestly the only way for these "news desert" to get any coverage is if someone like a Figure Lakes 1 or HomeTown News or whatever that one in PA is comes to that area. There sadly won't be anyone covering news from the big outlets anymore.
  7. Let me get this straight, they didn't know about any of the zoning and tax issues yet were disgusted about it when they found out but it's the towns fault for finding out about improper zoning and the stations fault for reporting the news??? Even if it's all on Lowmaster, Bunce continued to operate the illegal opperations long after Lowmaster left mid summer. To get mad at the station and the town is laughable beyond belief.
  8. Thank god the police found this guy. If this went off, this could have been really bad. National Coverage level bad.
  9. Wholeheartedly. The original report got so much blow back in March on WETM and the Village of Horseheads. The public was willing to rush to conclusions that it was conspiracy or some kind of mistake instead of actually reading the report and seeing that Lowmanster and Bunce were running it illegally. Bunce started going off on the 'Us vs Them" narrative and facebook did the rest. Well now everything's out and the original report was true.
  10. https://www.mytwintiers.com/news-cat/journey-church-ending-the-l-concerts-events/?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=socialflow&fbclid=IwAR3EFKgvtSOA0tJt0eK9CAccOfEEdUgblmX6GjMBNp1PcwWbVkOy4uksEBE So to basically confirm what was already reported "The L" is no more.
  11. No your thinking of the old Bon Ton location. But I still think the senior living complex would help. At the other end is pickleball courts as well.
  12. Maybe turn the Sears and now soon to be furniture store into senior apartments and have the mall cater to them. Not only do you give them access to Planet Fitness but have a few more stores catered to them. They can do their walking around the mall. Guthrie and Arnot are right across the way for doctors appointments. There are stores outside the mall like Walmart and Target not too far. Heck even try to get Regal to give seniors discount on tickets. Just throwing some ideas out there.
  13. I mean I don't know if you guys noticed but Comic-Con brought in a lot of business for the Food Courts this weekend. They were jammed packed on Saturday and even busy on Sunday. Big events in the event center could bring in extra business. The mall needs to fully reinvent themselves. Maybe look at what Binghamton is doing with their mall.
  14. My only question is which I assume you it is but is it replacing the Mall Moonies? or a different location like back in the day how there were two/three Friendly's?
  15. I'm still stunned Nick Grasso won reelection. Dude was caught drinking and driving yet no one seem to care which is flat out embarrassing.
  16. This race was a lot tighter then I possibly could ever imagine.
  17. I saw Bunce's facebook video where yet again he keeps trying to downplay the reports as just "made up rumors" which is pretty crazy since all the news reports say they reach out to Adam for comment and he always never responses. It's like he's trying to make it about himself and control the narrative when there's really no reason to do that.
  18. A fence is a good idea but that plaza really needs to be torn down. It's such a eye source. Dollar Foods and the gym have been out over a decade ago at this point. Even when they had stores in there, it was not a great plaza.
  19. Report from WETM about the Erie Plaza on the Southside being redeveloped. I'm honestly surprised the plaza isn't being torn down cause that plaza hasn't been touched in over a decade. Even when it was used, a good number of store fronts weren't in the best condition. The old grocery store probably hasn't been open in well over 20 years.
  20. Is it bad that I have a feeling if this was a Elmira High School student people would be climbing up a wall making every negative comment possible. Since it's Corning, its a "Well that's sad."
  21. I want this to work but man $18 for a corner ticket for lowest of the low hockey is ridiculous. I can go to cornell for top level division 1 hockey for $15. AHL in Rochester for about $20 bucks. It's just absurd and way too much. I rather go to the domes. At least that is fast paced and fun hockey.
  22. Elmira is not that bad and has a lot of nice features I feel that people don't appreciate. I have walked the streets of Elmira at night plenty of times and feel pretty safe (Granted I know for the most part where to avoid) It has so much beauty in the area with the hills. The Harris Hill view is one of my favorites by far. Has some great restaurants and bars (Downtown Grind, Siam Elephants, Barbs Soups On, Patricks) and Clemens Center. Saying that, Elmira is not close to perfect. Not much to do downtown, First Arena is such a dysfunctional mess and half the time when they have events going on, still no actual shops outside of more dollar stores and nothing has been done with Clemens Square since they put all that money into it. The parking garage has gone downhill a lot. Homeless living in there nonstop over the summer ruining any momentum they might of made. The Southside has really gone down hill. The Tops plaza looks so rundown since they left. It feels dirty to go over there. There's probably a lot more that i'm missing but I can't think of it off the top of my head.
