  1. Surely I can't be the only one who sees Russia taking a play out of our own 80's Cold War playbook where they're just spending us into oblivion like we did them?
  2. I have to believe if an election were held tomorrow, and the GOP put a relatively sane person up as a candidate, Kathy would lose. Unfortunatey, neither of those first two things are happening anytime soon.
  3. After a couple years of complaining about them overtaking things, i finally moved the hostas to a section of the yard where I don't care how big they get. In their place will likely go some perennials or something, I don't know. I think I'm going to have to re-plant the black eyed susans that were there; last year's freeze seems to have done them in, they never came back at all. I need to spray the fruit trees for fire blight, and will, just as soon as I get a day that isn't too windy or there's no rain in the days right after. Also, I have WAY more seed potatoes than will fit in the garden bed. So what I've been doing is piling used/dirty hay in a section of the yard we don't even see. There I'll just stick whatever is leftover in the hay and see what happens. We may end up with nothing, or we may end up with a bumper crop, only time will tell.
  4. I saw this on Twitter ( I think ) recently, labeled"Brutal Truth about NY" or some such thing:
  5. Or more of the kind of videos I like to see, those FAFO ones where someone gets trampled or bitten for harassing wildlife.
  6. I don't know man, I think that thing would be displayed in my home somewhere. He's a better man than me!
  7. Progress is being made:
  8. We finally watched this tonight and it did not disappoint. It was pure Kevin Smith gold. At one point I was thinking, “Damn these guys look old.” But then I remembered we’re about the same age. We’ve kinda grown up together in a way, if you’ve been a fan since Clerks first came out. They don’t look that old I guess. The ending was very touching and surprising. I loved it.
  9. As it looks right now, if I’m going to vote it’ll be for Kennedy. Not because I support him in any way, shape or form, but there’s no way in Hell I’m voting for the other two. The only other option I see is not vote at all.
  10. I watched this episode again last night and enjoyed it all over again. Paul makes a point of, why are there not more gardening shows on TV and he's right. I wish I could get the collection of his shows as well as Joe's first show "Fresh From The Garden" to have on hand when I want to watch them. Both were excellent.
  11. I watched some of this guy's other videos and honestly, he seems like an asshole.
  12. I just did a little experiment to make sure I’m correct in something. My bus is 9’2 wide. I don’t know the exact width of a driving lane, they kinda vary though. On Maple Ave, centered in my lane, I am about 6” off of that fog line. In Jerusalem Hill Rd., I keep myself centered ( especially careful to stay more to my side of the road because we all know how people drive on that middle line). I can’t see it out the door window, that’s how close I am to it. So I’d ask the armchair experts out there, what is or isn’t “riding the line” in a large vehicle? Or are they just spouting off nonsense?
  13. Well first off we’d have to define “riding the line.” What line? I looked around at them at intersection and there’s no “bike line”, at least one that’s labeled as such. Just the fog line. I’d have to look up the vehicle and traffic law as it pertains to the fog line. I see all the time people running down bus drivers, but what they don’t know is that bus drivers are the most highly scrutinized and trained commercial drivers out there. They’re told that on Day 1. Annual physicals, annual defensive driving evaluations, and every other year an additional, more in depth evaluation that includes a physical performance test. They've got that bus under control, I assure you. That doesn’t mean perfection, they’re only human after all. But the “they’ll let anyone drive” line is a complete crock.
  14. One of them mentioned a bike lane and that the bus was crossing over on to it. There isn’t a bike lane there. I checked. And yet thats where people get their “news.”
  15. From what I was told, the bicyclist ran into the bus. Now, I know that goes against the opinions of the local experts on Facebook and the conviction of the public opinion court, but...
  16. Seriously, how in the hell can anyone afford it. Nevermind someone who isn't working at all! ( Nevermind, I know the answer. )
  17. We haven’t been in a few years and honestly don’t feel like we’ve missed much based on what I remember of our last visit. Im not surprised, and I think we’ll see this happen to more places as time goes on. We don’t eat out nearly as often as we used to and when we do, we try our best to go to someplace that’s locally owned and operated.
  18. I know I’ve been hard on the local media over the years, and for the most part, with good cause. But I’ve been thinking about it more, especially since the incident at Target with Sheriffs Dept. Investigator Theetge, that what’s largely lacking is those people who’ve been here for more than a year or two, and have earned the trust of the community and their place in it. So with that in mind, I wanna give a shout out to Renata Stiehl, Nick Quatrini, and Joe Veres for sticking it out here at home instead of using this as a stepping stone to a bigger market.
  19. Oh don’t worry, it’ll be in your tv sooner than later.
  20. People need to stop making their politics part of their personality, particularly online. I don’t know how many times in a day I see someone’s profile read “proud lib” or “MAGA”. No one really cares! Is that the best you have to offer the world about what you are? And honestly, I find these type of people to be people I don’t want to be around anyway.
