TTL News 308 Posted February 29 Quote Rite Aid’s bankruptcy was not a surprise, according to reporting by CNN Business in October. The company had $3.3 billion in long-term debt, exceeding the value of the company’s assets by nearly $1 billion, CNN reported. Selling off stores has been a part of the company’s strategy to stay afloat, CNN reported, in addition to securing $3.5 billion in financing and debt reduction agreements from lenders. Court filings show seven separate statements with additional store closures in 2024, filed on Jan. 4, Jan. 9, Jan. 16, Jan. 23, Jan. 30, Feb. 6 and Feb. 27. The announced closures includes several locations across New York State, including the Rite Aid located at 119 West 2nd Street in Elmira. Pharmacy closes at 5 weekdays and not open at all on weekends. I'm about ready to move my stuff to Walmart.
