TTL News 308 Posted June 6, 2023 On Sunday, members of the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police responded to a residence on County Line Road, in the Town of Big Flats, to investigate a suspicious person. Upon the arrival of the Deputy, police found 38 year old Gregory M. Parker of Elmira in front of the residence with what appeared to be a handgun. Parker complied with orders from the Deputy, discarded the weapon, and was taken into custody without further incident. After further investigation, the handgun was determined to be a pellet pistol, which had been stolen from the residence along with other items. All items were recovered at the time of the arrest. As a result of the investigation, Parker was arrested for Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Violent Felony. Parker was arraigned on the charge in the Town of Big Flats Court and released.
