Savage was arrested and taken to the Steuben County Jail, where law enforcement learned he was on felony probation prior to this incident. Savage was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, Resisting Arrest and Tampering With Physical Evidence. Canisteo Police were assisted by the New York State Police Department, Steuben County Sheriff's Department, and Canisteo Ambulance. Canisteo Police Chief Amidon reminded residents of the village that the department is working hard to keep drugs out of the community and will continue to investigate and arrest those found to be selling narcotics in the community.
