  1. Those trees really would not be much work to remove the city should really fund the whole project and renew this wonderful historic site. 5-6 good working volunteers could hammer out most of the work in a weekend or 2. The city really needs to get its priorities straight!!

I recently got quite an education as to why the fair has shrunk in size. ( I was told 11 rides this year compared to 27 in 2019 ).

In 2021, James E. Strates apparently couldn't do the fair due to a lack of manpower. So Wheelock was booked as the ride provider, with the understanding that Strates would return in 2022. However this didn't happen, so Wheelock would again do it, with Strates adding 3 of their rides to Wheelock's. That gave a total of 16 rides for that year.

Allegedly this past spring a five year contract was signed with Wheelock. They brought a total of 12 rides, one of which didn't pass inspection and could not be used. Strates was not involved in any way for unspecified reasons.

Yes. That is a politician speaking.  That is not Jim. I don't get it. I would be very surprised to find that this is a Republican website. But Democrats do not support their own. Why is that?

I thought I just heard recently these are making a comeback of sorts. I remember collecting them as a kid cause it seemed like everyone did  But they definitely never amounted to any real money that I can recall. Just like Pokémon cards another suckers bet so to speak.

Well Ill be the sucker if you have any Pokémon cards laying around you wish to dispose of.

Star wars is still going? It feels like the national lampoon franchise. Although they may have finally ended that. I always thought the star wars video games were cool but I could never really get into the movies. They used to play them on TV when I was a kid once a year or every couple of years. I'm not sure I ever got through the first movie.

Do you live under a rock?

Rebels started off slow but turned into a great show.  The mural they show in the new trailer was straight from Rebels

    $32 for a good steak? I’m in!

This area could support a place like Golden Calf, but too many people want or are used to cheap mass produced products, including food.

What a lot of people failed to realize or appreciate is it wasn’t a steak mass produced from a factory farm somewhere. It was super fresh meat from a cow raised less than 50 miles from here on a family farm. You’re gonna pay more for that because they have to pay more to produce it. Or, you can go get a cheaper one from Wegmans.

I loved his jalapeño and cheddar sausage. I think it was 13.00/lb but it was locally made, and it was damned good.

Since we are rehashing old posts. I was very disappointed to see him go. Id happily pay 32.00 for a good fresh steak but I am a quality over quantity person.

How can information be collected if it’s not shared on Meta or Twitter?

More than likely you have to allow access to contacts and search history and all that when agreeing to the terms and conditions plus with it being a meta thing it will have access to your Facebook and Instagram if you have it so it will pull information from there.

And still they close those shops, fine them and they are reopened the next day.  Clearly they are making enough money that the fines are not bothering them a bit.

I have purchased by CBD products from Head and Heal for years.  They operate Florist Farms out of Cortland and were the first farm to be licensed to sell legal MJ in the state through dispensaries.  I have always had very good results with their products.  Kind of wish a dispensary was closer than Ithaca or Binghamton.  They seem to be doing well.

Sticker shops make me nervous.  I have no idea where that stuff comes from and no idea if they are also using moldy products.

World Piece in Elmira is the only one I go to. They do no present themselves as a sticker store and its not skeeby at all. They participate in all the downtown events and even have some of their own. There are no stickers but rather craft goods which they make with a glow forge and make some pretty awesome stuff.  Friendly bunch of ladies are usually working at the shop I would recommend checking them out on facebook. They also have a discord where we generally chat and growers share pictures and are available for questions.

    They deal with local growers

I recommend anything from The New Stone Age (these guys are phenomenal growers all organic. Very friendly brothers out of Binghamton. Generally they sell out pretty quickly so I buy direct from them when they come to town.

Brilliant organics is out of Ithaca I have not met her but she came recommended from the stone age guys and that's good enough for me. I hope to meet them so I can make that direct connection and save some money.

The newest one Q cultivation is pretty good as well. They also sell out pretty fast.

Along the lines of edibles they stock High As Hades who are out of Waverly they make tinctures, salves, vape carts and various edibles and drinks. Also Dazed and infused which I believe they only stock his gummies. Finally they do have their own homemade in house edibles they usually run about 6.00 and they vary cookies cupcakes brownies and do pack a punch.

Going to the Ithaca or Binghamton you are getting mass produced and machine trimmed with very little quality control. You're more likely to get moldy weed from them than you are one of the growers above.

A Southport man was arrested after police say he was found inside the now closed Southport Correctional Facility.

On June 1, at approximately 9:13 a.m., troopers from State Police barracks in Wellsburg responded to the old Southport Correctional Facility, in the Town of Southport, for a report of an individual entering unlawfully. Subsequent to an investigation, it was revealed that 35 year old Justin E. Hoose of Southport, NY, forced his way into the facility and posted pictures online.

Hoose was transported to State Police barracks in Horseheads, where he was charged with Criminal Trespass 3rd (B Misdemeanor) and was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Southport Court on June 22, 2023.

Not the first time it was broken into. Just don't think the other time made the news because of what was stolen

  10. I would not touch any of the Legal grown for the legal dispensaries. The testing standards are lower than what it should be so moldy crops are getting through.  Not to mention the prices and taxes they are charging. Its to easy these days to meet a local growers and deal with them direct. Id rather deal with the small batch growers actually putting time and effort into the end results over the mass grown machine trimmed state crap. They are also inflating the numbers for the supposed potency well above what it really is.

As far as sticker stores they do provide a safer place to buy than the pssss hey you guy in the shady dark alley. As long as they are paying taxes and not going over the legal amounts or selling to minors who really cares.
