  1. If someone is struggling to make ends meat due to the pandemic, I'm not sure how $270 is going to help. And how convenient it comes out just a 2 months before election day.

People receiving SNAP benefits received the full amount eligible to the bracket they are in in August, great for those that need it.

It just sucks for those working and struggling but make just a couple hundred dollars month or year to qualify for any help.

My ignorance of comics is definitely showing 🤣

It's understandable, they have so many comic universes and so many different story lines. I only keep up with what's going on by watching different videos on YouTube and such.

  3. I give up on watermelons and pumpkins, I never get a good harvest from them.

As for the only other thing I grew my peppers did great. I have everything from sweet to ghost peppers and for the most part they all produced. I have a big bush of Thai peppers and even have 4-6 plants of Habanadas growing. Habanada looks, tastes and smells like a Habanero but with no eat.  So they should be interesting.

Just threw out about 75 cloves of garlic because my basement got flooded and the excess moisture caused 1/2 of them to sprout and the other 1/2 was mushy.

  4. Got a chance to watch the first 2 episodes today and I can say they are pretty good. I like it when shows break the 4th wall and She Hulk does it a lot, just like in the comics.

    I wouldn't say it's a stellar show, but it's fun to watch.

  5. I always tell people if you think Unions are so great ask the people at Hostess.

The company told the union they can't afford raises and the union decided to strike. Hostess told the union if you're out for more than a week or 2 we will be closing the doors because we can't afford a stroke. The union went for the strike anyway and a week later they announced they were shutting down.

  6. I absolutely love how Starbucks is handling this.

"the NLRB also alleged that the company withheld benefits and wage increases from unionized baristas — which Starbucks denied, falling back on a statement made in July stating that “The laws is clear: once a store unionizes, no changes to benefits are allowed without good faith collective bargaining.”

It also sounds like you are right.

"According to Gillett, she had been fired by manager Chris Mix after arriving late to work — something the company is typically lenient on, claimed union representative Jaz Brisack, except when the employee is a unionized worker."

Also Starbucks corporate put out a statement. “Some of the complaints from the union have been about our sharing facts and our perspective on this important issue so partners can make informed decisions when they vote. Our hope is the union would respect our right to share information and our perspective just as we respect their right to do so.”

I love the fact they wanted a union and now have to follow the rules that go along with that. That they don't like so much.

  7. They are only planted a inch below ground. I think they would do good in an elevated box. Just make sure to provide plenty of fertilizer or nutrients since they drain the soil of it.

I have some cloves I will drop by your house in the next couple week. A few different varieties. I had them separated, but they all got mixed together.

  8. If you are planning on planting garlic this fall you will want to start getting some sed cloves. They go in the ground in the next month or so.  Remember they aren't harvested till July so you won't be able to plant anything else in that location in the spring and they take all the nutrients from the soil anyway so you need to plant something next summer in that location that adds nutrients back.

Would he be able to retire from that position with full congressional benefits?

    No,

A full pension is available to Members of Congress who are:

    *62 years of age with five years of service;

*50 years or older with 20 years of service; or

*25 years of service at any age.

  10. I was checking out the Arena website today and I see they have Rumors of Fleetwood Mac coming in Oct. That should be a good show.

Oddly enough they don't have the tattoo expo listed on their calendar.
