Good old Chuck Clarks where anyone with a pulse could get served. I was 19 the first time I was served there. They actually marked my hand as over 21 without checking my ID. LOL

I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully the next one is more like Francis and Pope John and not Benedict.

I knew a guy that worked in the investigation unit. He said the only ones you see are the ones that don't want to settle elseer charges. I'm sure they do end up settling after they make the front page, so to speak!.
He said they take care of hundreds for lesser amounts for everyone you see in the papers.

I'm sure they are not missing much, but having to reroute while working because of a "farmers market" is ridiculous. Bath and Ithaca both have them at busy central locations and don't force a reroute.

It would be nice if they didn't block off the main street in town in the middle of the day. Most other cities have the farmers market and don't block off the main St in town.
Plus being open later in the day when people that work during the day and not downtown can go also.
It's basically a lunch hangout for downtown businessmen.

Let the people of Elmira have something to do in the winter..I do agree that First Arena was a great idea, but the community is not attending...The money to help grow our city should not be used every year to bail out the arena...What about putting garden share beds in somewhere? Fenced so the deer cannot get in. People would pay to have one of the beds and then would maintain it. Might be a good way to get people talking to others in the community.
They have those at Katy Leary park next to the river. Southport also has some at Chapel Park.

The amount of data TikTok collects, and the device permissions it has access to.....have the potential for serious consequences in the hands of a dangerous foreign adversary.
The permissions it asks for are no different than what OKTA or Slack which I use for work asked for. IMHO it's more about the government not being able to control the story like it did with Meta or X.
Musical.ly was acquired by Bytedance in 2017 and merges with TikTok in 2018. So it has been around for a long time and the Govt. did not have an issue with it until about 2022. They all laughed when President Trump mentioned it during his first term.
If the Chinese Govt wanted data they can find easier ways. After all every phone is made in China and millions of people buy from Temu and Shein which are both Chinese companies

You know a lot of actors are in it promoting their books. It's free (other than time) and if you hit the right people can be big!.

I enjoy TikTok, I have learned a lot of recipes and about places I never would have known about. But I understand it's not for everybody!.

His songs all sound the same to me anymore.
I hear the same song of his on the radio everytime I turn it on.

Plus they have proven cashier's can sit and do their job. They also have huge barcodes on the packages so they can easier and cashier's are quicker.

While I see fewer Aldi (grocery store) commercials than Target/WM (department stores) commercials.....I rarely see commercials for any grocery store. The few Aldi commercials still outnumber all other grocery store commercials combined.
There are occasional local commercials for Minier's or Jubilee, but fewer than Aldi. And I can't recall any wider/regional commercials for ShurFine. I'm certain I've never a Wegman's commercial, and maybe one or two Tops commercials ever in the 4 decades I've lived in the area (around Superbowl, maybe?)
As for Aldi as a shopping experience. Meh.
I don't understand some people who rave about it and seem to hate shopping anyplace else - as if they're in a cult.
For anything I regularly shop for....I've found that Sam's typically has better price & quality than Aldi (even factoring in the Plus membership). Anytime I've been there, I might find one or two products that are uniquely good deals. But Minier's/Jubilee almost always have some nice finds as well. YMMV
I'm one of those people. I rarely go anywhere else but Aldi. My wife will go to Sam's and other places. I can find everything I need at Aldi.

I need to put some quarters in my truck! So far I've just bought what I can fit in one reusable grocery bag.
My wife has a stash she calls her Aldi quarters. Lol
You can also ask the cashier and they will give you a quarter for the cart.

I have the same issue. But I chalk it up to them not be treated with preservative spray

When Aldi first came to the area they were cheap in price and quality. About 10 years ago they started getting better food with less preservatives and better quality to begin with. I noticed the bread gets moldy quicker, but that's expected with less preservatives.
I always go to the Aldi funds aisle first. Sometimes you find a good deal. I have bought some enameled cast iron pans for $20 when the La cruset version is over $100.
My favorite is the Moser Roth chocolate bars. The spicy dark chocolate is the best. It has no heat, but the taste with the pepper is great.
Make sure to try red bag chicken. They are breaded chicken breasts in a red bag. Toss them in the oven for air fryer for 15 minutes and they are great. Put them on a brioche bun with a pickle and Chick fil a sauce and it's a clone of their sandwich.
I also wish more stores would adopt the cart system to keep the lot clear if carts

When Tom Brown retired in 1999, he didn’t have plans for a second career or even a time- consuming hobby. But that all changed just a few months later when the former chemical engineer found himself at a farmers market in Winston-Salem, North Carolina staring at a display of heirloom apples. “Until that moment, I hadn’t really spent much time thinking about apples,” he laughs. “But I found that I was fascinated by the colors, the textures, the tastes and the names of all those heritage apples.”
