Hal 266 Posted August 10, 2022 Ever notice that these reports all seem to read the same ? Shots fired , large group flees , so called victim gets treated at hospital , clams up “ dint see nuttin “ ! Same crap over and over but now more juveniles are getting into the act . Two remedies to save wasting resources on taking out the Trash … No speakee no treatee ! Or as I have stated before, plenty of Basic Pistol Class’s available in the area , learn to shoot … bad ass’s carrying a deadly weapon should be able to be deadly bad ass’s doing mortal damage to the intended target . Elmira Telegram 243 Posted October 22, 2022 On 10/22/2022 at around 0337hrs Officers responded to the 500 block of W 4th Street for a report of gun shots. Upon arrival Officers located several spent shell casings on the sidewalk in front of a residence. The same residence had an upstairs window struck by gunfire. The residents advised that they were not aware of who fired the rounds or why their residence was targeted. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Anonymous tip line at (607) 271-HALT. Elmira Telegram 243 Posted April 5 On 04/04/2023 the Elmira Police Department was dispatched to the 300 block of Walnut St for the report of gun shots. Upon arrival Elmira Police located one victim who had suffered a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. This matter is still under investigation and no further information will be released to the public at this time. The Elmira Police Department is asking anyone with information about this matter to call the Elmira Police Department at (607)737-5626 or (607)271-HALT. Information can also be sent anonymously to the Elmira Police Department via OPERATION HALT at http:\\www.cityofelmira.net. Elmira Police Officers were assisted in this investigation by the Chemung County Sheriff’s Department, the New York State Police, the Town of Elmira Police Department, Elmira Fire Department and Erway Ambulance. Elmira Telegram 243 Posted Tuesday at 02:10 PM On Sunday evening, Elmira police department reports that officers were dispatched to three separate reports of gunfire in the city in less than thirty minutes. At 7:55 pm, police were called to the area of the 300 block of West Church Street for a man reported to have fired a shotgun outside. Several people were interviewed about the alleged shooting, but no evidence of one was found. Then, at 8:10 pm police were called to the Pine Street area for a report of twelve shots being fired. However police note there was only one caller for this incident, and when they arrived there was no evidence of any gunfire found. At 8:20 pm officers responded to the area of West Hudson and Harmon streets on the Southside for a report of a single gunshot and two individuals seen fleeing the area. When police arrived they interviewed the two people and again, no evidence of a shooting was found. These three incidents are still being investigated as police attempt to identify anyone connected with them.
