So penalizing everyone 150 years after slavery ended is okay then, even if their own ancestors never owned slaves, as far as you’re concerned.Or if their family just came here 25 years ago. So long as you get that money you think you’re “entitled” to? Get real.

Chris 3,135 Posted October 31 No, I’m done with this ridiculous conversation. Because in the next post up, you openly admit that nothing would be good enough. You want to punish me and my descendants for something we had no part in. Thats a conversation stopper for me. Good luck.

Gonna break my internet hiatus to jump in here on two things that just bug Hell out of me ! #1 just how are reparations going to make things “ right “ in Anyone’s “ best interest “ ? And if not Reparations ( cash ) just what do you think will make things right ?! And to be clear , I sure as hell am not in favor of reparations as I am not guilty of owning slaves . And while we are at it lets discuss the Blacks back in that period that “owned “ slaves … Say what ?😮 # 2 Now let’s discuss all the Union Soldiers that were killed in the Civil War , remember that ? What reparations are they … Me “entitled “ to ? Oh yes , an ancestor of mine fought and died at Gettysburg with the Pennsylvania Regiment, my proof , his name is on the Monument along with the Others that were killed there ! For what did he die ( other than States Rights ) . So tell me Pvt Snowball , what will make that “right “ by my family ? And to What or How much am I Entitled?! End of story its history we either learn from it or are doomed to repeat it. 15 hours ago, Hal said: Gonna break my internet hiatus to jump in here on two things that just bug Hell out of me ! #1 just how are reparations going to make things “ right “ in Anyone’s “ best interest “ ? I'm curious do you post misinformation on purpose or do you not know how to use Google? "Matilda McCrear was the last known survivor of the slave trade died in 1940" The person (Sylvester Magee) you are referencing that died in 1971 also claimed he was born in 1841. Most scholars do not believe his story since if it was true he would have been 130 years old when he died. So every descendant of slaves is entitled to money because of something that was done to their descendant 150-200 years ago? Dave Chappelle did a skit on what would happen years ago. So to make reparations to 400,000 slaves we should pay 48,000,000 people? Why not just pay 400,000 since that's how many slaves were in the US.

Beekeeper 39 Posted Sunday at 07:47 PM I have a problem with this. What was done to the Aftrican Americans was awful, but what happened to the Native Americans, Irish, Catholics, Italians, was just as bad. The KKK believed in the National White Protestant Nation. I personally think the Native Americans got the worst deal. They were kind and helped the people assimilate to this land...They believed the land was for everyone to use. We stole it from them piece by piece...If it wasn't for their kindness, the Europeans would not have created sustainable colonies here. How did we repay their kindness? Just sad. No money can correct the discrimination and white entitlement that was the formation of the United States. All we can do is what we are doing now. Give all US citizens the right to the best education through grade 12. Give all US citizens the right to attend a college for further education. Each generation is a little less prejudiced than the one before. We currently are not treating all people equal, but it isn't as bad as Archie Bunker either..The discontinuance of redlining is making it easy for Americans to live anywhere.

Right, not to penalize and punish generations to come for something that happened hundreds of years ago. Which is detrimental to any efforts to move forward.
