ESPN and the New York Post report QB Daniel Jones is being benched after leading the Giants to a 2-8 start this season. DeVito, the third-string quarterback behind Jones and Drew Lock, is expected to start Sunday when the Giants host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. DeVito, who played college football for Syracuse and Illinois, went 3-3 as QB last year when Jones was injured and became a fan favorite with the nickname “Tommy Cutlets.” The hometown hero has not appeared in any games this season but completed 114 of 178 passes for 1,101 yards and 8 touchdowns with just 3 interceptions in 2023. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was one of the latest to use his arms in the fashion to celebrate a touchdown, and it affected his wallet. Twin Tiers Living 525 Posted December 2, 2024 The Jaguars' QB Trevor Lawrence took a nasty shot on Sunday: Quote Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was ruled out of Sunday's 23-20 lossdue to a concussion after sustaining an illegal hit in the first half against the Houston Texans. Lawrence was hit in the head by Texans defender Azeez Al-Shaair while sliding following a 6-yard run. Lawrence was noticeably shaken up on the play and a skirmish took place after multiple Jaguars players took issue with Al-Shaair's hit, for which he was ejected. Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones was also ejected for his role in the ensuing fight, while Jacksonville tight end Evan Engram received a 15-yard flag for unnecessary roughness. Lawrence left the field on a golf cart and was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game. Lawrence was 4 of 10 for 41 yards with an interception at the time of his injury. "It's a play that has no business in our league," Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said after the game, per 1010 XL Radio.
