Kevin 426 Posted June 17 When people are advertising something new that they hope to do every year and advertise it as the "First Annual" that drives me crazy. Since annual mean yearly and it has never happened before you cannot have a first annual anything. The proper word to use is inaugural. That is my biggest if many pet peeves
Chris 3,051 Posted June 17 People, it’s 2024, we can stop the emails loaded with crusty jokes or Paul Harvey quotes sent to in group emails. Chances are it’s not funny, was funny when the rest of us read it in 1998, or so loaded with viruses the CDC wouldn’t dare study it. There are people whose emails go directly to my SPAM folder because of this. Just… stop.
command_prompt 285 Posted June 17 People who cruise in passing lanes should be ticketed. There's a reason why it's called a PASSING lane. It's not for you to get in and drive the same speed as the car to your right. No excuses, d1ckh3@ds.

Chris 3,051 Posted July 2 I am really tired of walking or driving down the road and smelling marijuana smoke coming from cars. How people think smoking marijuana while driving it okay, but it's pretty common. I don't care if you smoke pot, toke away, but do it safely. NY really screwed the pooch on this one.

NY definitely screwed the pooch and the whole litter on this one. It should be 100% illegal to drive while smoking and I'm sure it is. Should be DUI and equivalent of open container in vehicle. On a side note you have actual product that has been tested by the state with 600 times the legal limits for mold somehow still making it to shelves in legal dispensary's. Product getting packed before its cured properly and mold/yeast starts to grow. Not to mention they inflate the percentage of THC in the product to charge higher prices. Chris 3,051 Posted July 11 You know what I'm seeing more and more of, and it's driving me nuts? Posts like, "Does anyone know who fixes washing machines? Does anyone know where I can find a thermometer for my pet mongoose?" Have you ever heard of: ?
Chris 3,051 Posted August 27 I'll tell you what I'm sick and tired of. Well, one thing off of the laundry list for now anyway: I'm tired of these self-righteous politicians, former politicians, and other people throughout the community who start these groups on social media in the name of having a conversation. It ends up being a complete echo chamber because the moment anyone dares to oppose their group think, they comment is deleted and the user is like banned from that page. The don't want to hear what others think unless it's in agreement with their latest pontifcating. Why would any of them come here, despite numerous invitations over the years, when they can simply spout their latest opinion unchallenged in their own sandbox? Pathetic. MsKreed 1,505 Posted August 28 So, Amazon has embedded their new “Rufus the AI Shopping Assistant” into every product page in the web browser version. UUUGH. Comparing multiple products? There's Rufus blocking the image of the item. Again. And Again. And again. Super intrusive and beyond aggravating just trying to find something. How “helpful” is it to force a customer to click “close chat”?......On....Every....Single....GD....Page. FFS, if any human salesclerk constantly harassed customers like that every time they looked at a product, we would ask to see a manager. #TurnRufusOFF
Chris 3,051 Posted September 10 I’m really tired of the nastiness that is more and more common on social media. When did it become okay to take peoples’ pictures in public and then post them for others to make fun of or joke about? It’s disgusting.

Chris 3,051 Posted September 13 Honest to God, does any actual forethought go into road construction in Elmira? Seriously, you already have the northbound lane of Clemens that's closed, so a lot of traffic is rerouted over Madison Avenue bridge to Water or whereever they have to go north of there. Oh but then let's do construction there, and close off Madison Ave between Church and Water, and while we're at it we'll close off Water Street to eastbound traffic at Clemens Center Parkway. I get it, the work needs to be done but it's not like the issue with Clemens happened just last week.
Chris 3,051 Posted Friday at 01:50 PM The wife needed new shoes, and I could use some new ones myself. So we went to Consumer Square to grab a quick bite and get some. "Quick bite" is a joke, as the fast food place we went to was understaffed and overwhelmed. I overheard one of the 3-4 people there say the others had "no showed, no called" which didn't surprise me. So I don't blame the people there for the delay. I blame their useless ass co-workers that left them holding the bag. After that, we went to the Famou Shoes place. As we pulled in to that section, I noted how un-friendly that part of the plaza seemed. It's actually something I noticed when we were up there Monday as well, but I thought it may have been a one off. The lighting is poor, and it doesn't give off the impression that the stores are even open. Which, the show place wasn't. Well, it was, at least for another hour and ten minutes. But there was a sign on the door that read indicated someone would be there at 7pm. We'd had enough waiting around to give someone out moeny, whatever the reason, and instead went to the Mall. Driving there, I noticed that all along through there, the shopping plazas were poorly lit. Were it not for the lights on inside, Applebees' would have appeared otherwise closed. We arrived at the mall around 7. It's open until 8. Someone should tell a whole lot of the stores inside that, because the gates were down and locked an hour before closing. Which is too bad, there was one or two little specialty places that looked interesting. Would have been nice to have a look around inside. As for the shoe store, there may as well have been a self-serve kiosk as helpful as the employees were. Other than the "Welcome to ____" they didn't acknowledge our presence until we made it up to the register. ( On a side note, once again I found shoes I liked but they didn't have my size, or had all "wide" sizes. I took pictures and will order them online from Amazon. ) So my peeve with all of this is, in a month or so we're going to hear "shop local" or how major retail stores are suffering lower sales, even during the holidays. And you wanna know something? It's their own damned fault. Because frankly, sititng here at my desk is a more pleasant shopping experience anymore.
