command_prompt 298 Posted May 25 Some of you may remember me as the iElmira's Command_Prompt. I am guilty of staring the Elmira is Crazy FB, which has turned into a lower grade Springer show, despite my numerous attempts to curtail the insanity. To any of you still on FB, please stop. The group has amassed 40K, with many people not happy with the group, which they should not be blamed for. Please let them know that there's life after the FB. I was diagnosed with breast cancer a month ago. The surgery is scheduled for the 14th, the prognosis is good. Sometimes one needs to address their fallibility to move on. I miss you all. I suppose it's not anyone's "fault" per se, it's just what people seem to want these days and things can get away from ya when you amass that many people. Things can get a bit boring around here, LOL, but it's less stressful. As we get older, some of the lucky ones get wiser, and I guess it was my turn. I did not think it'd be a malignant clump of cells that have conspired against the rest of me, but heck, whatever. command_prompt 298 Posted May 26 It's been a heck of last decade. I've lost my husband in 2018, the ability to use my predominant hand was gone in 2021, now the cancer stuff. My father died in July, and I have to deal with his stuff remotely (my parents were divorced). Can someone here come up with guidelines on how to chill? That resulted in a half dozen new people signing up, as well as more activity on here in one day than we’ve had in a long time. Thats exciting to me because as I’ve said in the past, the enjoyment I get from this is simply seeing everyone’s thoughts and the conversation. I added the widget to the bottom so people can see that number and who is new. Most of that 170 are older, largely inactive accounts. Including yourself, we've seen 8 new accounts since Saturday morning. It doesn't sound like much, but it's a significant improvement. Especially when taking the activity rate into account.
