Hal 618 Posted April 11 I’m positive there were more fun / funny discussions throughout those 11 years but the fog of time doesn’t allow for any specific conversations from this end lol 😂 HAPPY 11th trip around the Sun !!
KarenK 553 Posted April 11 Pretty sure I've been around since day 1. Even before that actually. 😁 Quite an interesting transition over those 11 years for sure. From the physical paper Broader View Weekly to where we are now. I have had the pleasure of meeting so many folks from here in person and practically feel like part of the family now. It's been a good trip really
Chris 3,699 Posted April 12 Obviously my experiences would differ a little bit. I really enjoyed that initial rollout and the enthusiasm I had, the feeling of so much potential for the site. And believing that social media would fall to the wayside… HA! I think the “golden years” were from 2014 to 2018 or so. We broke a few good stories and had a good following and more people participating so it was worth putting the time and effort into doing that. We’ve pissed some people off over the years, some deservedly so, others because of simple misunderstandings that could have, and should have, been worked out amicably. I’ve been disappointed by others, but I was warned to be ready for that. I’ve felt kind of bad about getting a former mayor in hot water, but also stand by my belief that they could have done better. I haven’t been threatened with being sued in a long time, so that’s good LOL. I’m not nearly as idealistic about this whole thing as I was back then. I’d love to have that level of activity again though. I just don’t know if it’s possible when social media drama is preferred and so much is on there before I get a chance to get it on here.
