Robert F. Kennedy Jr. intends to end his independent presidential campaign and endorse former President Donald Trump, according to two sources familiar with the plans.

The sources cautioned that talks are ongoing but said there will be clarity by the end of the week. One of the sources said the campaigns are working toward a joint appearance.

I figured he was ready to step down, but did not expect the Trump endorsement.

I did why would he choose democracy over tyranny? I'm glad he didn't ruined the Kennedy's name.

Listen I’m not a huge fan of Trump by any stretch but thus far I have heard nothing from the Harris ticket on any of the issues of the day and I don’t see where Kennedy dropping out is going to benefit either party I just don’t see a major voter shift . As for a Kennedy endorsement for Trump , that as we all know , will come at a price .
While I’m at it I might as well “stir the turd “ with this . Can anyone here actually show me and Prove to me what Harris has actually Done over the last three years of her term ?! And don’t feed me any of the Bullshit of what she plans to do on “day one “ because anyone thinking that it won’t be just more of the same is delusional! And as for her running ( the other way ) mate , he is an even better Liar than she is .

Harris now has just over two weeks to prepare for what could be her only presidential debate against Trump, a Sept. 10 showdown that could dramatically shift the direction of the race. The first presidential debate, of course, effectively forced Biden to drop out of the race.

For now, Harris’ team feels no urgency to roll out a comprehensive policy platform or sit for media interviews that might jeopardize the positive vibes that have defined her nascent campaign and produced a flood of campaign donations and a growing army of swing-state volunteers.

During a series of meetings throughout the convention week, her advisers cast her policy agenda as a continuation and expansion of Biden’s first-term achievements, particularly on economic matters, even if it may look and sound different in some cases.

Harris has notably dropped her opposition to fracking and her support for Medicare for All, which were defining features of her 2019 presidential campaign. Her aides insist her values remain the same, but she’s embraced more centrist policies out of pragmatism.

this is an interesting false choice thrown around by some. First of all Dictionary definition is "cruel and oppressive government or rule, a nation under cruel and oppressive government. "

For his faults, During Trump's term, our Nation certainly was not oppressed, and no cruelty ( unless you count grift from politicians) was imposed upon Citizens. Further, you and others should remember that POTUS of ANY stripe, really cannot be a tyrant because we have the two houses of congress ( legislative branch) that are responsible for the making of Law and seeing how over the last 40 years or so of the "War on Drugs, poverty, etc" the promises/threats relating to social security, medicare, medicaid, drug prices, rich getting richer....absolutely nothing has changed and many of the same faces have been singing the same song all those decades, or new faces have put their own spin on them with same results....and guess what? Democrats have had just as many turns in the big boy chair as republicans and fuck-all has changed.

I find it laughable that, after ALL this nation has been through, including a civil war, that we as a nation are doomed to crumble because of one person.

Give me a break.

New polling post-debate from ABC News and Ipsos finds Vice President Kamala Harris leading former President Donald Trump among likely voters, with the margin in the race unchanged from ABC News polling conducted in late August.

Overall, 52% of likely voters back Harris, 46% Trump in the poll, the same margin the pollsters found among likely voters in an August 23 through 27 poll.

  • Among likely voters, Harris holds an edge among independent likely voters (53% to 44%).
  • Women who are likely to vote break for Harris 55% to 44%, while men likely voters split evenly, 49% for each.
  • The survey suggests Harris holds a wide advantage among likely voters younger than 30, 59% back her compared with 40% for Trump, including a 38-point advantage among younger women in that group (68% Harris to 30% Trump) even though men in that same category split almost evenly, 51% Harris to 48% Trump.

Among adults, the survey suggests little change in the dynamic between the candidates on the campaign’s central issues. Trump continues to be more widely trusted to handle the economy (46% Trump to 39% Harris) and immigration (47% Trump to 37% Harris), while Harris is broadly more trusted on abortion (48% Harris to 34% Trump) and protecting American democracy (45% Harris to 38% Trump).

The ABC News poll was conducted online Sept. 11-13 among a random national sample of 3,276 adults and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2 points. For results among the 2,196 likely voters, the error margin is plus or minus 2 points.

REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — It was the perfect place to welcome the endorsement of the firefighters union — a gleaming new firehouse in a blue-collar town just outside of Detroit in the key battleground state of Michigan.

But by the time Kamala Harris showed up in Redford Township on Friday, there was no endorsement waiting for her.

By a slim margin, the International Association of Firefighters declined to back any candidate, a reminder of the Democratic nominee’s struggle to lock down the same support from organized labor that President Joe Biden won four years ago. The Teamsters also balked at an endorsement last month.

A Trump town hall in Oaks, Pa., Monday night went from a Q&A session to a bizarre musical event in which Trump stood in front of his audience for an extended period while songs played on the sound system.

The town hall portion of the event lasted nearly an hour and was moderated by Kristi Noem, South Dakota's Republican governor, who is a Trump ally.

Trump then called for his "favorite chart" to be put up on screens — the chart of border crossings that had been displayed in Butler, Pa., on July 13 when a would-be assassin shot at Trump, hitting his ear. In addition, he asked that someone play a version of "Ave Maria" sung by Luciano Pavarotti.

"We'll do a little music. Let's make this a musical-fest," he said.

Trump stood onstage until the song was over, at which point he stopped the question-and-answer portion of the evening.

"Let's not do anymore questions. Let's just listen to music," he said.

bit shorter though thanks in part to Georgia Judge shooting down hand counting( NOT tabulating) votes to make sure the machine counts match what humans count....may not be as polarizing/bombastic as trump, but just as critical in further building distrust in the system

Well I certainly didn’t have Trump talking about the size of Arnold Palmer’s, uh, driver, on my Election Bingo card, but here we are.

Vice President Harris and former President Donald Trump appear locked in a tight race for the presidency, according to polls. The election will likely come down to just a handful of votes in a handful of states, where billions of dollars have been focused over the last year-plus of campaigning.

To become president, a candidate has to win not a majority of the votes, but a majority of electoral votes. The number to reach is 270.

At this point there are essentially seven states in play: Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin (all part of the ”Blue Wall”), and Nevada, Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina (the toss-up ”Sun Belt” states).

There are lots of different paths to 270 for Harris and Trump, but based on the math, one of these two things have to happen for one of them to win — provided each candidate also wins in the places he or she is favored:

  • Trump has to win one of the Blue Wall states, or
  • Harris has to win one of Pennsylvania, North Carolina or Georgia.

Put another way: There is no path to the presidency for Trump without winning a Blue Wall state, and there is no path for Harris unless she wins one of the states in that trio.

Recent polling at fivethirtyeight.com shows this:

Screen Shot 2024-10-23 at 9.32.19 AM.png

And I'd wager that Trump has a slight edge in Pennsylvania.

This is going to be a close one, and I won't be surprised if he wins.

My last trip through PA a few weeks ago really supported that it's Trump country.  A sign in every single yard.

Not sure how Dems keep getting elected as Gov.

I've noticed a huge increase in Harris ads on Binghamton TV stations.

Historically, air time on New York stations wasn't much of a "thing" for POTUS elections. It seems like this year they must be hoping to reach some of the counties in northern PA.  But I'm doubtful it will sway many of the Northern Tier rural/conservative voters.

I saw on the news this morning that another caravan of illegals were coming to the US in case Trump wins.
