Remember, he shot one person:

Think they’d do this if it were you or I instead of some CEO?

Nope.  That's nothing but theatrics.

Terrorism charges, give me a break

When he was first taken into custody, there were a few things that make me suspect that he had plans laid out to keep killing more CEOs or others he felt his grievances were applicable to. If he wasn’t done yet, then terrorism may possibly be appropriate.

He was still carrying around the murder weapon, along with a note that barely stopped short of a confession. Stating that he acted alone and that "they deserved it".   Unless he had reason to believe that Brian Thomson was non-binary, the use of plurals seems to indicate that note was intended to be released later.....after one or more additional actions that he felt "they" deserved.

A day later it was reported that a notebook containing details and logistics of the murder. If that notebook has checklists and details beyond this one murder, thre's a good because plotting multiple killings to force society to embrace your “cause” most definitely falls under the definition of terrorism.

The House Ethics Committee on Monday released its long-awaited report on former Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., after looking into sexual misconduct allegations against him.

The committee found there was "substantial evidence" Gaetz violated House rules, state and federal laws, "and other standards of conduct prohibiting prostitution, statutory rape, illicit drug use, acceptance of impermissible gifts, the provision of special favors and privileges, and obstruction of Congress."

Among other accusations, the committee found Gaetz engaged in sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl in 2017, and used or possessed illegal drugs on multiple occasions from 2017-2019, including ecstasy and cocaine.

Gaetz has consistently denied any wrongdoing, including in a statement on social media last week.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Meta has agreed to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trump against the company after it suspended his accounts following the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, according to three people familiar with the matter.

It’s the latest instance of a large corporation settling litigation with the president, who has threatened retribution on his critics and rivals, and comes as Meta and its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, have joined other large technology companies in trying to ingratiate themselves with the new Trump administration.

The people familiar with the matter spoke on the condition of anonymity Wednesday to discuss the agreement. Two of the people said terms of the agreement include $22 million going to the nonprofit that will become Trump’s future presidential library. The balance will go to legal fees and other litigants, they said.

Sigh...I am ready to be done with winter.

You and me both.

I like the snow for the holidays, and after that, I’m over it. January and February are the worst. Two months of cold, gray suck.

An Upstate New York lawmaker is pushing to make President Donald Trump’s birthday a federal holiday.

U.S. Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-Cleveland, introduced a bill to make June 14 a new federal holiday that would be known as “Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day.” Trump was born June 14, 1946.

June 14 is already a holiday known as Flag Day, but it is not a federal holiday.

I've opposed adding new "federal holidays" for decades and truly believe most of the existing ones should be revoked. They're a waste of taxpayer money and insulting to the working poor.

All of the civic/historic people and events they claim to "honor" would be better accomplished by keeping kids in school to participate in observances rather than sitting home playing video games.....while paying billions of dollars to government employees to not work (and paying the essential employees double time and a half to show up).

And how about the lower economic class?

How nice that the working class can "celebrate" the holiday by waiting on all the government employees their taxes support. Because a lot of those government employees spend their holiday shopping or eating out.

Those non-union service and retail workers don't really benefit from having a "federal holiday". They're still working, or losing a day's pay if they don't come in.  Since their kids' teachers are all having a paid day off, they have to lose wages or find childcare.

Rep. Tenney will just have to stand in line to kiss The Donald's ass like everyone else has.

and school will start to end in July instead of late June...With Lunar Day, Juneteenth..our school year has been extended by 2 days this year.  We still have to get 180 days of instruction i and 5 days of in-service.  So these holidays we have to follow are just a pain.
